Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all.

I loved 8 of these poems. Unfortunately, that makes up a very small percentage of the book.
I would love to read about the ways these poems saved the reader’s lives as the title claims. Now that, would be a good read.

I’ve never been a big fan of poetry hence why it took me a long while to read this (oops). It’s a book my mum gave me when I was young so I wanted to finally get around to reading it. It wasn’t a bad book but it just wasn’t really for me. There were quite a few stand out poems for me though which definitely inspired and moved me. Overall I thought it was a decent collection of poems but not the best.

Some gems, but a lot of paste

Not that an impressive collection, mainly American, and not always the best that poet has written. The inspiration the poems bring forth are mostly of a religious Christian bent. There are better collection out there.

Some of the good and great poetry here, but also some that is just sentimental.
