Kathy is best known for her Full Wolf Moon Trilogy. Fast-paced action and smart, stylish writing are hallmarks of her work, whether short or long fiction, thrillers, mysteries, dark fantasy, or speculative fiction.

Blending myth with modern relevance makes her novels and stories hard to pigeon-hole. But once you've discovered her you'll understand what thousands of readers already know, and why critics think K.L. Nappier is one of the best independent authors writing today.

"Her Full Wolf Moon Trilogy is an otherworldly saga...exciting..." ~ Tampa Bay Magazine

"If a reader wants to see something unusual, a little off-kilter, this would be their gem...of such quality that it can be read many times over and still enjoyed each go-around. We definitely are keeping an eye on this author in the future." ~ GoodBadBizarre

First paragraph: The Swamplands of Central Florida

Early Spring, 1950

First Night. Full Moon.

Max stared down at water so black, it swallowed moonlight as absolutely as the creature he stalked gobbled souls. He and David hadn't said a word while picking their way between the swampland's trees and over the cypress knees. They chose every step as if their lives depended on it. Any sound could be the sound that doomed them.

Any book that starts out in the mosquito-infested swamplands of Florida in the 1950's is sure to get my attention. As a follow up to the great story that was "Full Wolf Moon," a werewolf story set in WWII-era Japanese internment camp in California, this sequel is even better than the first. Here, almost 10 years later, David and Max have become hunters of the Beast, following its incarnations across the country and even overseas.

I loved the details that the author paid to the historical setting, to the characters (such as hipster pilot Mezz, the Spanish nun in the Dominican Republic, even the return of Doris Tebbe from the first book), to the place settings. You could hear the whine of the no-see-ums in the swamps, feel the hot dust of the bus in Lupinar, see the 50's era style of early suburbia, California.

And those are just the world-building details. The story itself - the return of Doris and her adopted son, the teenaged Andrew from the first book, now all grown up, are even better.

Very recommended.

This one was bit more better than Full Wolf Moon. It also ties up loose ends from the first novel.

For me "Bitten" was a thoroughly enjoyable reading experience. I recommend this book for all who love stories about werewolves and the beasts within or without.

Although the book can stand alone IMO, I think it is better to read the first part of the trilogy (Full Wolf Moon) first.

With gleeful anticipation I wait for the third part "Chosen", which should be published by the end of March / early April 2013, according to the author.

Author K.L. Nappier returns with Book II of The Full Wolf Moon Trilogy. Bitten follows Max and David as they follow and hunt down the ancient werewolf's bloodline. Both characters, Max and David, work well together and have great chemistry together. Thanks to the author's vivid descriptions and engaging plots I followed along with their travels and tribulations.

The dialogue within the book was inconsistent. It wasn't terrible but some conversations felt dry and boring. Unlike the first book where I had no trouble with the dialogue. There were no spelling problems or typographical errors this time which I found several in the first book.

The story continues from the first book and ultimately leads up the final book Chosen. Things aren't ended neatly here so if you prefer all your stories to have clear endings then maybe this isn't for you. But if you like horror or werewolf fiction you should give this trilogy a chance.
