'Brazos,' by Cameron Judd, is a good example of a western that doesn't have the quintessential white hat good guy. In this case, even one or two bad guys have offsetting good traits that complicate the storyline. Judd's version of the western is a little darker than most Louis L'Amour novels. I'm looking forward to tackling another one of Judd's southern trilogies in the near future.
