All his life, Preston has focused on only one rising up the political ladder. Marriage isn't even on the ballot. Until Lee Ann. The passion she arouses is hot, irresistible…and all-consuming. Can he convince the senator's daughter to toss her hat in the ring—by giving her heart to him and a love that comes only once in a lifetime?
I absolutely loved it. I’m always apprehensive reading things that have a setting in my city and/or state but Donna Hill wrote it with such accuracy and reverence. I love this family and can’t wait to continue this series
Writing was superior, as I have experienced from the author. A good beginning to what I anticipate an engaging series. Was satisfied by the character, "Lee Ann" started living. Was happy to read about, "Rafe" from the (Sag Harbor Village).
Lee Ann and Preston... different backgrounds but brought together through political parties. In this story you see what it takes to make it work despite family and career. Lee Ann being the eldest daughter had a lot on her shoulders. As she comes into her own, and shed the insecurities, it leads to a passion and purpose like none other. Preston being the Alpha male was just what Lee Ann needed. He was a junior senator with integrity and purpose. He had the zest that Lee Ann needed. The Lawson being a close net family brought an interesting dynamics to how Lee Ann and Preston would finally get to their own happily ever after.
Spend My Life With You (Lawson's Of Louisiana) Book 1
Lee Ann Lawson has been taking care of her father and her brothers and sisters since her mom passed away. She has hardly taken time out for herself, that is until she meets Senator Preston Graham.
He has shown her that while taking care of her family, it's okay to have a life of her own. As they spend more and more time together, they fall in love and realize that they are willing to do whatever it takes to be together, even if that means Lee Ann has to leave her family to be with the man she loves. Read: April 2016
I thought the book was ok, pretty predictable though. Man and woman meet, fall in love, then something happens to pull them apart, then they realize they are meant for each other and get married. I will mention that it was nice that the characters actually dated over a period of time, and didn't fall in love and marry after a month. If you're an avid romance reader, and don't want to read the same ole' romance novel skip this one. I've read much better from Donna Hill.
Politics, back-room solutions, mysterious relationships. Lee Ann Lawson and Junior Senator Preston Graham meet at a thousand dollar plate raiser. Electricity sparks when they touch. Lee Ann the glue that holds her family together, their primary care-giver has put her dreams on hold for her family. Preston coming out of a troubled relationship never saw what hit him when he met Lee Ann. Passion is hot, sensual, irresistible, one day at a time.
This was a cute romance book. Lee Ann's story is like many older females of the family. They end up taking care of everyone else except themselves.Preston was an intelligent man who didn't take no for an answer. Together, they explored what love really was and where to take their relationship once they discovered it.
I haven't read anything by Donna Hill in a while but this was a very CUTE love story and a ENJOYABLE read....Looking forward to reading about the rest of the political Lawson family.....GREAT start to a GREAT series.......
I loved it! I especially liked the family unit and the closeness. The little twists were nice too. I would recommend it to all my friends that are avid readers and those that I am trying to introduce to the excitement and entertaining world of books!
The honesty displayed by both Lee Ann and Preston as people just trying to find love is refreshing. Our past affects our present. If we don't confront it truthfully and deal with it, what is our future?
I love the Lawson's of Louisiana. They are a great Southern family with great Southern traditions. It is all about Family and learning to branch out on your own.
