This book is a great first introduction to children who are just learning about math.This workbook is the first of a series and is for children who are beginning their math journey. Beautiful colored images, puzzles and ‘brain breaks’ occur throughout the book to help engage interest. Counting up to 5 is a key concept in the book and children will trace and write numbers and solve simple addition and subtraction equations below 5 using representational images. Find the object, counting, and matching puzzles help children improve their pattern recognition. They will increase dexterity by practicing cutting skills.Additional key math concepts are introduced ranking, simple shapes & time, big vs. small, money up to a dime, measurement with a ruler, greater than/less than & bar graphs. The concept of “0,” counting to 10 and groups of 5 and 10 are introduced near the end of the workbook.This 8 1/2 by 11 book has 50 pages of content and an answer key at the end.
