This is a 1980s-era lesfic I found on our shelves. It’s actually very good. I’m seriously thinking the 1980s were the peak of lesbian fiction. This one, though, is of the trope of closeted lesbians outed and shunned in a small Berkshires town. Told from the first-person POV of a 12 year old girl who realizes she likes girls and therefore has a difficult relationship with just about everyone, except the two women who run a nursery (flowers). Not sure you could write a book about a 12 year old talking about touching her best friend these days. Seems they always want the age of consent to have passed. There’s even a creepy man who molests girls and Tinker didn’t mind till years later when she learned she should be horrified.
