Such amazing girls, spending time with them is a real breath of fresh air. This is the kind of empowerment we need more of in our school systems. Lots of body positivity. I'm seeing what I can do about gettin this in school libraries all over the fuckin' place.

This is good. It starts after vol. 50 of the main series and doesn't intrude upon that series but takes the 4 main female Fairy girls and shows us what adventures they get up to by themselves.I'm not well-versed in Fairy Tail at this point and only know two of the 4 female characters but didn't find it hard to gather what was going on and the plot was easy to figure out even though it got more complicated as it went along. Actually, a good first volume that tries to get a bit of everything in. Assuming we know who the characters are there isn't much development but they do each get a turn at showing off who and what they are, there is a lot of battling, the story is relatively complicated for a first volume and we understand relationships. This could prove to be quite successful as it is an ongoing series still current in Japan. Bad parts are the art is nothing like Hiro Mashima's and is downright not cute nor pretty like his work. Is Boku trying to make up for that with the outrageous amounts of bosoms floating around defying gravity everywhere you look? Perhaps. I'm not offended; I like boobs, but "Boob" really should be in the title to let you know how heavily they represent the main angle of the art. Perhaps "Fairy Girls' Boobs" LOL

I rate this 3. 5 stars.

I had this and vol. 2 for a while (I love Fairy Tail so I buy anything that is Fairy Tail related) and decided to finally read them so that I can decide if I should buy vol. 3 and 4, which would complete the series.

Already from page 1, the art style did not wow me, especially the first page, it's so bad, which is not good considering first impressions. The girls (Lucy, Erza, Juvia and Wendy) don't look bad but they could have been better. My biggest problem with this series so far from what I've seen in this volume is that things happened that don't make sense if you know this series well. One of those things is that in the beginning a little boy comes up to them talking about how famous they are after the Grand Magic Games and they're shocked that Fairy Tail is famous, which makes no sense at all. Even if you've only seen episode 1 of Fairy Tail or just read vol. 1 of the original series, you know that Fairy Tail has always been famous and all of the members knew that, especially Lucy, that's part of why she joined in the first place (she heard lots about Fairy Tail and really wanted to join) and yet she's the won who is shocked the most in this book, which like I said before, makes no sense at all. The only time I can think of that Fairy Tail wasn't considered the strongest guild was from the 7 year time skip up until the Grand Magic Games but even then everyone knew of Fairy Tail, so really wasn't a time when Fairy Tail wasn't famous or infamous. Yes, this is a big deal and I'm going to be nitpicky about it.

Another thing that doesn't make sense according to canon is that Juvia is upset after Grey rejects her. First of all, this isn't the first time even though they're acting like it is, second, Juvia never gets very upset in this situation, usually it goes in one ear and out the other. These things made me feel like the mangaka of this spin off series hasn't read/watched Fairy Tail or at least not in a long time. If I hadn't known before starting this book that this series is NOT by Mashima and is not canon, I did the moment I read these parts. The stories don't have to be canon to be enjoyable but important characteristics and little things like this SHOULD be otherwise they'll take me out of the story.

I'm currently reading vol. 2 and the art has definitely gotten better and I didn't find as many things that annoyed me in that one as this one but I'm still not sure if I should buy vol. 3 and 4.

This was a nice little side quest away from the main story- nice for the Females to get a spotlight, and the storyline itself was nice in that it wrapped up in 5 chapters, yet still felt expansive enough to go from the small scale to bigger battles and goings that readers of the original series would come to expect. It was a nice read, but nothing it in screamed out that I needed to keep reading- partly due to the fact that the storyline wrapped up by the end, but also Fairy Tail itself is such a long and epic series that there isn't really time for the extra.

However, as the main series ends, I could see myself returning to these side stories just to revisit these characters and get a little more time in the Fantasy world of Fiore with these old friends. Hence the 3 stars- it's a well-done solid effort; but I think time and perspective off from the main series will be the true judge of the Series. But a fun start nonetheless!

Story 3,5/5
Charaktere 2,0/5
Zeichenstil 4,0/5
Gesamt 3,0/5

This is definitely a manga for avid fairy tail fans who do not want to buy all 63 of the original series of the manga. This was a really fun adventure with the main ladies of fairy tail. I enjoyed it though there were some moments that were a tad racy but though the artstyle is not exactly the original but it was close enough that people can still appreciate it. And every one of the 4 girls got to shine in some form or fashion which is what I am really glad about. One thing I was a little sad about was that there wasnt a lot of other characters other than the four and that the secondary adventure happened really quickly. Because of these points I have to give this a 4.5 out of 5 stars I really enjoyed this and I cannot wait to continue the series eventually!!!

Perhaps this is better if you are familiar with the property, but I didn't know it was a spin-off. On its own, this just isn't great. The art is kind of ridiculous, which I guess is just the style, and there are some equally ludicrous story elements, as well. I didn't know the characters, but they had distinct personalities. There was some fanservice, which I didn't much appreciate, but it was milder than the other book I read recently, at least. Generally, I don't think this book is for me.

I'm trying to familiarize myself with my library's manga collection so I can better recommend books for our patrons. I've never seen or read the original Fairy Tale anime/manga so I don't know how this relates but this was fun though a little too pervy and I worry that it's probably going to go in the direction of other battle shonen, where everything has to get more ridiculous and over-the-top as the series progresses.

Knowing that Fairy Tail is an excellent series, I grabbed this with little inspection. Mistakes teach us!

This is nothing like Fairy Tail, although it shares a few characters. The story is mediocre (lacking the humor of Fairy Tail) and the art leaves much to be desired.

I have, and will read volumes 2 and 3. Volume 4 is out there somewhere but I can't imagine tracking it down.

In principle, the story could have been good with its little stories about the girls from Fairy Tail, but there is far too much fan service, even with minor characters. It has nothing to do with the original work, and I find that a bit of a shame because it underdevelops the characters' personalities.

Women of Fairy Tail

Loved this female centric story. The teamwork and comedy superb. Also loved how each woman got to shine on there own through different parts of the story. Reminding us that everyone has there strengths and by working g together we can achieve greatness.

Debole spin-off al femminile. Con i disegni dell'autore originale forse avrebbe fatto ridere almeno un po'.
Trama scontata, scene viste e riviste.
