It's still interesting but there are plenty of great ideas, plus the final show down between human and god is exciting! But I don't like it as much as the first two volumes.
Talk about epic and this volume defines that. Its basically the origin of Adam and his resolve to fight for his children aka humanity and then we see his entire origin in the Garden of Eden and how he came about and the way he copies Zeus move and their ultimate fight with the latter going in his new form and even then its just so epic. This manga was so well done in terms of fight like its just continued pages and pages of fight with one upping the other even though in the end the victory was predictable, the ending was just gorgeous It feels like parchment from an ancient text. But man was it beautiful. Probably one of the best volumes so far.
And then the next fight will be even more awesome: Poseidon vs Kojiro Sasaki (Japan's ultimate warrior maybe). The art was gorgeous when he enters and the things he does is just wow. This manga is becoming next level good especially with the art and the moments that entails and the stakes are just legendary!
The surprises keep on coming. You'd think that the last fight would be lopsided, but the two combatants ended up pushing each other to the limit.
The third round battle is revealed to be Poseidon versus Sasaki Kojiro. Here's the kicker, Kojiro actually lost his most famous fight against Musashi, but the author has something up his sleeve no doubt. As always, the art is amazing.
I really liked it in general. The fight between Adam and Zeus comes to an end at the beginning of this volume. I have to say it is much better in the manga compared to the anime. I almost cried because I really liked Adam's character. After that, the third fight is between Poseidon who is described as stronger and crueler than even Zeus, and Sasaki Kojiro a famous swordsman with the greatest loser as his title. I'm super curious about this new fight as I knew Kojiro before, and I especially liked him in the Fate series as well.
Thank you to NetGalley and VIZ Media for a free review copy!
In this volume we get to see the conclusion of the Adam vs. Zeus fight and it doesn't disappoint! No spoilers here but they really push each other to their limit and it is an even fight right to the end! Then we get to see a little bit of the next fight, which I'm excited to see the conclusion to in the next volume! Overall a great volume and I'm excited for the next one!
No no not because this volume is bad of course, I just can't take how the volume ended. Xoxo.
"Is there any men that need a reasons to protect his own children."
I loove that sentence, and I love Adam's character.
So, in the last two volumes, I don't really understand about this manga. Then, understand that this manga is focusing on battle and if we want to like the story, we need how the battle's arc and if want to know about the character, we need to focus how they handle the battle.
For me, this battle not that epic, but Adam is epic. 😂
For the third battle, I'll ho with Poseidon coz I like the handsome chara 😬. Well, I haven't seen the full arc, so maybe I'll change my mind after I see how it goes. 😂
Classic battle Shonen bait and switch. A little predictable, but still cool. Kind of bummed Adam went out this early, but round 3 looks like it's going to be cool. Just have to wait for Vol 4 to come out in 3 months to see it. 😤😭

Ugh I'm actually so bitter that Adam lost this battle. I was hoping he could win. Maybe if the battle between Adam and Zeus had happened later, it would have turned out differently.

ADAM. BABYGIRL. WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU. YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO WINNNN. Not sure this has much of a story, more a narrative line as an excuse for OTT ultraviolence, lots of noise snd shouting, some seriously infeasible bewbage and an… interesting interpretation of the basic Christian mythos. Good fun, tho - and very filmic
Chapter 10: I could train for a thousand years and I still wouldn't be able to beat that human!
Chapter 10: The Serpent accused Eve of eating the fruit forbidden by God! But in truth... Resentful that Eve remained faithfuk to her husband, Adam, the Serpent tried to make Eve his own. It was a completely false accusation! However, the government, the judicial system, and the prosecution, all authority was in the hands of the gods. The probability of a human receiving a guilty verdict in eden was 99.99999 percent! The sentence was expulsion from paradise.

Chapter 10: And with that Adam and Eve left for Earth forever

And without anyone taking the lead unbidden and all at once every human there, in there own way began to pray. There was no sex, race, ethinicy, nor religion. Chapter 11: It seemed that it was only a matter of time. However against Zeus, who continued throwing lethal blows, Adam stood his ground! He countered each blow with Divine Replication. The humans and the gods were all on their feet awed by the beauty of the battle's lethality. A moment of perfection only made possible through the exchange of blows.
Chapter 11: Amid the frenzy that filled Valhalla arena one person saw what was coming before anyone else. Who was that? It was Adam himself. In this world even great events are set off by the most trivial causes. Gout. Hay fever. Even revolutions and wars. They all start from one little thing.
Chapter 11: While humanity his children were in despair, Adam their father was in darkness.
Chapter 11: Somewhere a baby is crying. It's okay. Don't cry. If anyone scares you daddy will take care of them.

Even other gods fear incurring his wrath! He is the most fearsome of all gods! The second of the Greek big three! The Zeus of the seas! His name is...
Chapter 13: And...! The fearless human challenging the God of the seas is this man! Who is humanity's ultimate swordsman? Was it Minamoto Yoshitsune, the devil of Mt.Kurama, who laid low the Taira family with his Kuramatachi sword? NO! Was it Kamiizumi Nobutsuna, the sword saint who established the Shinkage school of swordmanship that even Takeda Shingen feared? NO! Perhaps it was Yanagi Matashiro, the master of the silent sword whom Chiba Shusaku, a master swordsman from the late Edo period, once said was unbeatable?! NO! I proclaim that this is the ultimate swordsman! But how can a man who tasted defeat be the ultimate, you ask? Is it his signature technique, the Tsumabegaeshi?! Or his thirst for vengeance agains the gods who loved Musashi more than him?! NO! NO!! NO!!! It's none of those things! Moving forward even in defeat! Taking one step further even in death! His pursuit of perfection continues to this very day! Humannity's Greatest Loser
Chapter 13: There before you is the state all swordsmen strive to attain. Sasaki Kojiro is, without doubt, Peerless Under the Heavens!
Fukui Takumi, Umemura Shinya i Ajichika powracają w trzeciej odsłonie serii, aby rozwinąć mocny cliffhanger z końcówki poprzedniego albumu.
In my review of Vol.2, I mentioned that the fight between Zeus and Adam was going to be one of the best fights I've read in a manga, and after reading this volume, I can honestly stand by what I've said wholeheartedly.
The fight draws two opposing sides and points-of-view into an epic encounter that simply evokes thrills from not even the reader, but even the characters in the manga. In many ways, it's a battle of "archetypes" or "ideals". Whereas Zeus has always been depicted as a "God among Gods", often revered throughout history, in reality, he's a toxic r*pist while also being a terrible father and role model. Thus, Zeus in the manga is not depicted in a "divine" way, but rather as a disturbing (with emphasis) old man, which represents his own nature. In contrast, Adam is depicted as both a caring father and husband, which he truly was; when he states his reason for fighting, is such an epic and emotional moment that it simply wins the hearts of everyone (reader included).
The severe juxtaposition between the two, as well as the sheer intensity of the fight, makes this one of the greatest fights you'll ever read.
Adam is not one, but he definitely is the GOD of this manga.
Can't wait for the development of Kojiro vs Poseidon, especially after the weight and emotion of Zeus vs Adam's fight paves the way for this one.
