Dag Heward-Mills uses his practical experience in the ministry and writes about the huge impact loyalty and disloyalty have in churches. He uses the Lighthouse churches, which he founded, as an example because many people wonder how it is possible to sustain churches that are all over the world with him being in Ghana. He says that much of the system depends on loyalty. The ministers are loyal to the Lord, to him and to the Lighthouse vision and that is why it works. Find everything about loyalty and disloyalty in this book and how to recognize a loyal or disloyal assistant but also about the good fruit of loyalty. Surely it is God’s desire that a pastor become a leader who has a purpose and is consistent in his personal life and ministry. With this book leaders will have the needed tools to achieve victory and confidence. This book has been praised by many pastors and church leaders and words such as “life-changing book”, “tremendous impact” and “apostolic foundation” have been used to describe Loyalty and Disloyalty.
Bishop Dag Heward-Mills is a renowned evangelist and author with a ministerial career spanning over 25 years. He is the founding Bishop of the Lighthouse Chapel International denomination which was founded in 1987 and has become one of the most prominent and fastest-growing churches to have been born out of West Africa.
This is the most powerful book i have ever read. Its not just church stuff it deals with, it goes deeper than work places but right into families when it comes to Loyalty and Disloyalty
It shapes the mind of a church member on how to be faithful to God and to the Pastor. It help a Christian to be submissive to God and to his/her Pastor.
In light of Plato's allegory of the cave, the heretical teachings presented in this book resemble the shadows projected on the wall—distortions of spiritual reality that keep the listeners captive to illusion, enclosed in doctrinal bubbles and trapped by vain philosophies. The leaders who spread such doctrines assume the role of reflectors, manipulating the light of fragmented truths to sustain a system of deception, in which the faithful are treated as disposable puppets—exactly as the author himself teaches. The only possible way out of this cave of spiritual darkness is the truth revealed in the Holy Scriptures, which liberates, illuminates, and leads to the full revelation of God in Christ—a message faithfully proclaimed only by churches committed to the biblical gospel.
This book is a must-read for every Christian. It lays out the principles to practice and the behaviour to avoid on the path to loyalty. Read it in an attitude of prayer, searching yourself for any thread of disloyalty, and rip out that thread. Disloyalty brings nothing but negative effects to a person's life. I believe that any organization that its people employs the principles laid out in this book is on a good path to longevity. Any person who applies what is written in this book is well on the path to prosperity and favour Easy to do and easy not to do. Choose to do.
Amen !
I enjoyed this book because of the insight the author has regarding the topic. Also, the various lists are great heuristics to look for when determining a person's level of loyalty, or my own.
I thought the book was best suited for church leaders.
Also, I think that parts of the book might not be as effective with churches in the North American culture since it is written with an African culture in mind. However, there are some cultures within the USA that do seem to share the same issues described by the author.
All-in-all: a good book, an easy read, and one I'll suggest to my ministerial friends.
Its wtitten for ministers and pastors, but the same signs of disloyalty can be seen in the business world. Managers, supervisors, etc. Can benefit from many of the same concepts found in this book. Many things are obvious, but this book provides a good reminder for the obvious and the less apparent signs of disloyalty.
The book is well written and it's contents are easily digestible - but even a stone can be made easily digestible (once it has been seasoned properly). To me, adhering to the contents of this book makes it difficult, (almost comically so), not to end up with an ill-gaggle that closely mirrors the Trump administration.
This book has a true element in that there is spiritual submission to one another and that there are presbyters (church 'leaders') but the methods it lays out in associating with people is much like that of a secular power structure, which is counter to that of the Kingdom of God.
