Why is the moth attracted to the very glow that will kill it?

How should an aspiring author write a wrong?

A maniacal killer is preying upon a firefighter's family, stripping them from his life: one by one; piece by piece.

It took every ounce of energy Lieutenant Gabe McLaughlin possessed in resisting the undertow of a mental breakdown as his best friend, Detective Jeff Spencer, told him the horrific news. And Jeff was fighting the same fight, against the same psychological beast, as he uttered the grisly details: Gabe's mother, Ira McLaughlin, had been butchered to death: Dissected... slowly.

Apparently, the killer took pleasure in cutting off appendages- one section at a time- at each of the major joints in the extremities. A tourniquet had been applied preventing massive blood loss... the victim eventually succumbed to shock. As insult to injury, the killer had also etched a note into the victim's torso: "will U-turn and look the other way, or watch while I kill?" -KiLLuR

A high-octane storyline, fueled with a cutthroat hell-bent on preying for a slice of heaven, U-TURN KiLLuR is the thriller that's bound to burn as the pages turn! Lil' devils sport such a wicked grin.

U-TURN KiLLuR... KiLLuR THRiLLuR.

Gabe McLaughlin is a firefighter. He loves his wife and 3-year old daughter with his whole heart, and he resists the temptation of the flesh when seduced by a sexy vixen he meets on the job. So why is he suddenly ignoring his family and shirking his duties at the fire station? Well, Gabe got a hankering to write a novel.

This novel is the only thing he can think of and he quickly becomes obsessed to the point that nothing else in the world matters. Things get so bad that he is nearly killed at a fire because he was daydreaming instead of concentrating on his job. He survives, but barely, and when he returns home, becomes even more obsessed with writing. He neglects his daughter all day long when he was supposed to be watching her. I'm amazed she survived basically fending for herself while her daddy was locked away in his office...

Can you tell I don't like Gabe?

Well, I started to, down the line. When his family members are stalked by a psycho, he begins to realize the error is within himself. By the time the novel was over, Gabe and I were friends. Yay.

Teric Darken knows horror. He knows the darkness that dwells inside of every man, and he writes with poetic perfection that draws the reader in, straps him to the chair, and only lets him up to go to the bathroom. You will recognize the voice of the enemy that accosts Gabe, and you will rejoice at the voice of the Light that saves the day.

Thank you, Teric. We need more authors like you.

In U-TURN KiLLur, author Teric Darken has written another fantastically suspenseful thriller that delves into the dark realm of human pain and weakness, yet which, at the same time, offers the hope of a light which can not only pierce, but can overcome, this darkness.

Firefighter and aspiring author, Lieutenant Gabe McLaughlin, is struggling to balance his job, his dream of finishing his novel and the quality time necessary to nurture his relationship with his family, when his world is turned upside down in a most terrifying way. His best friend, Detective Jeff Spencer, is shocked and devastated to have to give Gabe the ghastly news that his mother, and the caring woman who has also been like a mother to Jeff, has been horrifically murdered by a deranged killer who mutilated his victim, cutting off her limbs and carving a sinister message into her flesh. This gruesome crime is not to be the only, however, and the tormented Gabe is abruptly thrust into a nightmarish world where his family is stalked by a malefic killer and Gabe himself is pursued by frightful demons both from without and from within.

A story of non-stop action and mind-bending twists, U-TURN KiLLur is also a fascinating examination of the human mind and spirit as it battles incomprehensible darkness and seeks the only light that can save us in the war between good and evil and in the battles we fight within ourselves. This is an insightful novel about temptation and the insidious way evil can twist our best intentions to serve its purposes wrapped inside a hellishly unnerving thriller, and is another haunting and thought-provoking work by an extremely talented author. A story I highly recommend to every reader who loves suspense, especially the kind in which the underlying spiritual message is one of hope in the very depths of darkness.
