Eckhart Tolle Teaches a Surprising Form of Emotional Alchemy To be human is to suffer. Whether it is brief annoyance or a life-altering cataclysm, everyone will encounter suffering-and yet, according to Eckhart Tolle, all of these painful moments contain an opportunity for awakening.

This is a 3 hour talk given by Ekhart. He is very on point with how we trigger our pain bodies and different perspectives to take given in his typical humor. Wonderful.

Suffering is in the mind, rooted in the ego and the pain-body. Challenge is to stay rooted in the 'present,' release the pain of the past (don't let that be the reactive trigger) and make that a habit to find peace of mind.
Second time listening to this book. Getting easier.

Mr. Tolle (German word for "AWESOME!") narrates this audio CD, and he sounds almost exactly like Nina Conti’s monkey puppet, Monk. If you aren't familiar w/ the reference, high thee now to YouTube. You'll love the voice, you'll love monk, and thus primed, you'll thoroughly enjoy Mr. Tolle's narration.

The fact that Mr. Tolle sounded like a female comedian's ventriloquist puppet made me trust and love Mr. Tolle all the more. Did I mention he's German, and that he used to be homeless? He is, and he did. Tolle encourages the reader to “stay in the moment.” I've found that to be sage advice, especially w/r/t copy-editing.

Very good message here. He has a great sense of humor and a great way of explaining his teachings. You may find yourself leaving the "present" every now and again due to his tone and calm delivery. I suggest taking breaks every half-hour to enable yourself to absorb the complete message. I will definitely return for another listen.
