About the author

J. Ellsworth Kalas has been part of the faculty of Asbury Theological Seminary since 1993, after thirty-eight years as a United Methodist pastor and five years in evangelism with the World Methodist Council. He has been a presenter on DISCIPLE videos and is the author of more than thirty books, including the popular Back Side series as well as the Christian Believer study.

I didn't like this book as much as some of the other "back sides." Some chapters were very good, some were just plain awful, and I felt there was quite a bit if misinformation in this book.

Kalas always challenges myself and my congregants in Bible Study to look at things from new angles, deepening the walk with Christ. A great teacher, greatly missed.

Overall I didn't enjoy this study as well as Parables from the BackSide, however, I loved Chapter 11, "Going Easter Shopping." The lesson about going in the Resurrection Shop and buying a new wardrobe....compassion, kindness, humility, patience and love is priceless.
