Three men when the world sees only two. One desire—to be loved and accepted. All they need is a miracle.
Paul and Joshua’s life has never been easy, or even easy to explain, but they’ve always had each other. Two distinct entities sharing the same body—the body of an escaped cat shifter slave rescued and brought to Earth as a child. They’re lifelong friends, lovers and soul mates. But Joshua is slowly dying—unable to sustain the psychic link that binds him to Paul. They desperately need a miracle. Unfortunately, miracles seem to be pretty thin on the ground these days.
Then one night they stumble on Matt as he’s being beaten by a group of thugs in a park. He’s human, he’s a mess and he sets off every protective, possessive instinct the pair have. Could rescuing Matt be the answer to their prayers, or just another complication in an already far too complicated existence?
Meanwhile, there are forces at work trying to sow seeds of confusion and decent. Forces that would eat away at all the cat shifters of the Bayside Pride have worked so hard to gain.
Can Paul, Joshua and Matt discover their miracle before it’s too late?
Jade was born in 2010 after a prolonged pregnancy and labour of over thirty-four years!
Yes, she is a pseudonym. A work of my fevered imagination, which never seems to grow tired of inventing new characters. And this one's a whopper. One that seems to have taken over my life to the point I'm no longer sure where she ends and I begin! Still, it seems to be working for us.
I’ve decided she’s about twenty-four. Enjoys long walks in the country, because she doesn’t have five kids and a husband to care for. Eats as much chocolate as she wants, because she never has to worry about putting on weight (must be all those long walks!). And can often be found planning her next whirl wind world tour or endlessly typing away (without any interruptions) on another hot and steamy erotic romance. It might be space pirates; it might be shifters or a lonely vampire with a thing for the girl next door, one thing’s for sure, she loves variety and can’t wait to meet the next characters destined to fall in love.
This was exactly the book I needed after a bad one. A book that's light and sweet and everything falls into the right places, leaving a huge smile on my face.
I'm not even sure how to classify this one. It's a bit like a menage because there's three people - Matt, Paul and Joshua - but then it's not a menage because there's only two corporal bodies! But then there is one (two?) scenes where they are all together. So, menage? Lol
I really loved this one. To me, it seems as if Jade's stories keep getting better and better and I'm absolutely in love with this world and the shifters and mages that inhabit it.
Paul is a unique shifter. Ever since he can remember he's had Joshua, someone only seen and heard by himself - in his mind. They share the same body but they are two completely different people. Paul's an introvert and likes being outside with open spaces and lots of running while Joshua is an extrovert. He's intellectual, vivacious and outgoing. He's the caring one of the pair while Paul just never knows what to say in those situations. Unfortunately, Paul is the one who owns their body. He's the physical one while Joshua is the psychic one. Without Joshua, Paul wouldn't be able to maintain the psychic link between them and without Paul, Joshua wouldn't be able to maintain the body. They need each other, they love each other but Joshua is dying and soon Paul will be a brokenhearted man without the only person who has ever understood him.
In comes Matt. He's been given a pretty bad deal in life. Being in foster care and having to support himself has been rough. He doesn't have the best of luck and that doesn't change the night he gets attacked by some thugs. Fortunately, before anything fatal can happen, Paul and Joshua come to his rescue. They save him and from there they can't help but fall in love even though Paul and Matt have their reasons for keeping their distance. Joshua knows he's dying and knows Paul is falling for Matt so he does what he can to make sure Paul will have someone there when he's gone.
It's bittersweet, really. I couldn't help crying and I know I'm not doing the story justice by trying to explain it. So, read it. There's not a bunch of suspense or anything but it's sweet and we are introduced to more characters, shifters and mages, and there's little hints of what's to come in future books. But it was just such a great book. I really do love these series and I feel in love with these characters. Definitely recommended.
I have to say that writing `Sharing Paul', book three in the Portals series was magic. The entire story hit me like a bolt out of the blue while I was in the middle of writing the second book, Devon's Revenge. All of a sudden there was this guy called Paul standing in the Cat Club talking to Nate and his whole story poured out as I sat trying to work out who he was and where he had come from. Originally, I wrote the whole story as a quick little 24K Novella, mainly so I could get the ideas down before I forgot them. Then, after finishing Devon's tale I went back, refined and expanded the story and now Paul, Joshua and Matt's story is being published as a short novel! It's been quite an incredible journey for all concerned.
As with the entire Portals series, I let my imagination go a little wild with this one. I just wrote what was there in my head and my heart and let it stand as is. I can't say I've ever read anything like Paul and Joshua's experience of life, so it was a lot of fun trying to feel my way through how they live and work together - what it would be like to be two distinct people that share a body.
I really hope you enjoy 'Sharing Paul' if you decide to go ahead and read their story.

The heck? I could not understand any of it. Having two men sharing a body is not a hard thing to wrap your mind around, but everything else is just... unfinished, underdeveloped. The ending is HFN-ish and is in dire need of another installment, which clearly is not happening. So unless you are willing to put up with yet another unfinished series, I recommend you skip the whole thing altogether.
This has become a very interesting series with very interesting twists. I have come to expect the unexpected because I can never figure out where Jade will be leading me in these stories. I thought it was very unique how she wrote Paul, Joshua, and Matt's story. I'm not a fan of menage but this story worked for me.
Can't wait for the next book in this series. I'm ready to learn more about Hawk and the mage war.
When two souls occupy one body they can either accept each other or destroy the body from the inside out. Throw in a sexy human with nowhere to turn but into Paul’s arms and you have one interesting read.
Matt, Paul, and Joshua’s insecurities created a common ground, and a conflict within the relationship. This mutual insecurity made the story much more entertaining. Most of us feel insecure about a new relationship, especially if the person’s past involves some form of abuse, or neglect. While both of their insecurities could have destroyed the blooming kinship in the end it was part of what brought them together.
While the romantic conflict was completely enthralling, the conflict with the mages was baffling. Other than the prologue, I did not understood how the conflict fit into the story. I figured maybe Paul and Josh’s shared physical form might give them an edge or play a role with the mages to tie them together, but that never happened. Additionally, the mage conflict introduced a few characters that I felt detached from, and never fully knew who they were and why they mattered to the story. I hope that the author can clear up some of my questions in the next installment of this series.
The love story between Paul, Joshua, and Matt was definitely a unique one. At the beginning of the story, I had no idea how the author was going to pull it off. Nevertheless, not only did the relationship work, it was perfect just the way it was. This is one of the few love stories where the romantic plot was different from your average story. It really made me question where this author came up with her ideas. This aspect of the story alone would make me recommend this story to my friends and family.
This series keeps getting better. I loved the unique take on Paul and Joshua sharing the same body. The prologue was gripping when it detailed not only the loneliness they felt as children because they were never truly accepted by the other shifters, but also the horror that they went through with the painmancy mage. It gave me chills. And the angst continued when we found out years later that Joshua was slowly dying and how devastating it would be for Paul to lose the love of his life. But then Matt came into their lives right when they needed each other most. I liked the slow build to their relationship and how Paul struggled with guilt over his attraction to Matt. I was also moved by Joshua's desire and longing to simply be seen as himself for once and how he tried to make sure Paul was looked after right up until the end (his letter to Paul was beautiful). It was an enjoyable and often emotional read. I hope there will be another book in the near future continuing the storyline with Hawk.
Very interesting and very catching and captivating story. It was really bizzare in a good way. Paul is a complex, multi-layered character so to speak. And he's nicely described and written, even if the ebook has only this many pages. I liked the interaction between Paul/Joshua and the pack members and Matt, the one person to finally make a difference for Paul/Joshua. And given how short this and previous installment of this series are readers still get the picture about the life of cat slaves, their rescue and about those involved, even if they first might seem not what they truly are. The only question I had reading this book, is why anyone in the pack not their good doctor and not even Paul's best friend Nate have -ever- tried to analyze, research or at least believe and/or understand his unique case? Maybe we'll see a little more of him in the future books in these series where it will be mentioned? Can't wait for the next book and my guess is it will revolve around the Hawk and his enemies, allies and his secrets.
Of the three stories in the series this was the most difficult for me to get my head around. Sharing Paul's body is another person... Joshua. I'm not really sure where he came from. I don't believe that even Paul knows, but he's been there all Paul's life and they love each other and are lovers.
Then Paul meets Matt and finds himself fascinated and in love with this new person. Together they two of them are able to save and love Joshua and though it was difficult, they are dealing.
My only disappointment in this third book in the series is that I was hoping to read more about Devon and his kittens, and ended up with this completely new story line. Maybe next book :)

If I could give this story more then five stars I would! Emotionally moving, original well-developed characters, original story line. The characters of Paul and Joshua combined as one man is a fresh idea. I felt the character of Matt to be the perfect match for them both. I absolutely loved the romance. It was a slow build with great care to details that deeply pleased the romantic in me. I admit to shedding a tears or two as I read. And yet this story has a HFN ending that stirred a warm feeling in my heart leaving me grateful that I read to the end. The series plot is being developed slowly with a little more growth with each book. I highly recommend this series and this book to my MM Romance, Science fiction, paranormal, shape-shifters loving, friends.
Loved the unique concept of two separate souls (literally soul mates, Paul and Joshua) sharing the same physical body (Paul’s), but then allowing them to come together as separate beings in an altered state – wow! Then add a third (Matt) to the mix and things got hotter and even more interesting. I have to say that I’m really sad that there doesn’t appear to be another book following this one in the series. I think there’s definitely more that could have been fleshed out about this trio, plus there was a tangent storyline that added mystery, but no resolution. Plus, I love the big cat shifters and would love more of that in general!
Very good paranormal m/m romance about a jaguar shifter with a secret - two men live inside his body - who rescues a human being beaten to death by thugs in the park.
