Beautiful tragedy. Bittersweet love.
The story was beautifully written, with amazing words and description. What impressed me most was that the author was only 19 years old when she wrote this, which was so incredibly talented.
Summary:
This love the female main character had was bittersweet because she was caught between two men---her doctor who cured her pneumonia and her cousin. Her cousin and her were both in love with each other, but things weren't that simple for them. Because of the historical background, she had no choice but to marry her doctor(but they didn't love each other at all), and her cousin went to America for business. 15 years later, her cousin came back to Hong Kong and found her; even if both of them were old, they still had feeling for each other. She thought they could finally live together and became a couple, so she got divorced. Unfortunately, after she divorced her doctor husband, her cousin sent a letter from America, telling her he'd never come back and wanting her not to wait for him. End of story.

本書雖為趙寧靜的傳奇，其實作者鍾曉陽用看似淺顯易懂的文字將她的愛情曲折婉轉表露無遺，字裡行間透露出栩栩如生的情緒起伏，微微帶有一股淒涼悲傷之情懷。書中有許多東北瀋陽的方言詞彙，由於不常聽、不常用，讀起來格外有趣，也更能融入趙寧靜的生活。不過屈就於當時的媒妁之言，她不得不跟熊大夫結婚，而深愛著她的表哥林爽然則早已跟講求門當戶對的陳素雲小姐訂婚，即使最後解除婚約，寧靜卻在爽然開口跟她求婚前便訂婚了，意味著屬於兩人的快樂時光終究結束了。縱使各自生活了15年後，爽然在一次因緣際會下與寧靜在香港相遇，年過半百的他早已沒有昔日風采，事業也不及熊大夫，結局更是令人鼻酸，年紀相差10歲的寧靜終於下定決心為了跟他在一起，毅然決然離婚，殊不知爽然卻決定在美國定居，從此不回中國了。不禁令人省思，寧靜這輩子的決定與遭遇，究竟是為了什麼?

抗戰時期，以及抗戰勝利之後，發生在東北的兩段戀愛故事。第二段戀愛是全書的重點。這兩段戀愛都發生得很快，沒有太多互相認識與了解，就是一整天或是一個下午一起逛逛夜市、吃吃小吃攤.....就戀愛了，不確定男女主角到底喜歡彼此哪裡（但是他們外型該都是還不錯的 :P ）。戀愛之後也沒有什麼深刻的分享與談話，繼續逛逛夜市、吃吃小吃攤、騎騎腳踏車、玩玩雪.....（我有從中感受到東北有很多小吃和零食是很好吃的，而且讀到很多當年東北城裡鄉下生活的細節），總之就這樣難捨難分了，感覺作者還將男女主角比喻為紅樓夢的寶玉黛玉，因為有好幾個場景是女主角在讀紅樓夢，心有所感，填了半闕詞，被男主角拾來閱讀，後來又填了下半闕詞....等等，他們對話也提過紅樓夢，男主角還因為女主角喜歡這本書所以也去買了自己的一本。他們這樣一直玩一直吃小吃，到後來生命中遇到一些真正的重要挑戰，父母要求定親、男主角家道中落.....兩人都沒有什麼溝通，互相誤會就誤會吧，憑感覺處理 :P 一開始對感情還沒太大影響，一時誤解後不用解釋也能互相和好 :P，但是後來就真的過不了難關了。十五年後，男女主角都離開東北了，在香港重逢，舊情復燃，也是膩在一起卻從不好好做深度溝通（但是我從中又感受到很多香港的餐館是很好吃的 :P）， 後來男主角單方面覺得不適合而和女主角分手。
我覺得很impressed作者寫作的當年才十八歲，而且當時已經是80年代了，她卻能把40年代的東北、50年代的香港風情，都描繪得栩栩如生！

很難想像這本是作者在18歲寫出的小說。雖然劇情略微純愛、單薄，但對於人物情感的描寫、歷史時代背景的營造和精雕細琢的文字，實在令人眼睛一亮。
個人覺得第一部與千重的戲分有點多餘，比較像自成一篇的短篇小說。看完第一部接入第二部，寧靜遇上爽然，讓讀者以為寧靜是感情易變的人，對於最終寧靜堅守爽然有點前後不一。況且，第一部結束後，千重就像消失了一樣。若能有點前後呼應，讓寧靜重逢千重，或至少想起千重，也許能讓小說更顯完整。

高中時在圖書館讀的遠流出版的，念念不忘，後來入手了這版本。最近又重看了第一部，總是只看第一部，實在是不忍再往後，總想，最好寧靜一直是那驕縱的麻花辮姑娘⋯⋯
