This book is all about what makes a habitat, and then specifically what can be found in a rainforest habitat. It discusses what a habitat is, that it has living and nonliving things, and what living things need. Then, it explains what a rainforest is and talks specifically about the Amazon Rainforest. It provides information about the weather and climate, plants, different animals, and how the animals eat, where in the rainforest they live, and how they find shelter.
I gave this book 5 stars. I love that it explains general information in the beginning. Such as, what is a habitat, before it explains what a rainforest habitat is. I also love all of the different animals it shows and how it gives different information about different animals, like how some animals live on the forest floor and some live in the trees. The pictures were great and there were diagrams that can be used to enhance reading skills.

Great look at the rainforest. It has some of the same paragraphs from another one we read in the series.

A short picture book of short text and animal photographs to the amazing animals found in the tropical rainforest of South America. Shows the difference between carnivores, omnivores, and herbivores.

I was not blown away by the writing in this book, but it does present some more sophisticated concepts in accessible ways. The photographs are beautiful and support the content. Overall a good choice for teaching about the rainforest to transitional readers.
