A writer cannot sit around and wait for their happily ever after like a princess in a fairy tale. They need to know what they are getting into, what needs to be done and what the publishers are looking for. How to Get Published tells you everything from internal politics to niche marketing to vanity publishing and more.

This is a small little book but it is full of excellent information. I am constantly finding myself picking through it or reading it from start to finish to re-educate myself on what I need to do to prepare my manuscript for publication, what sort of effort I need to put into self-publicity and how much input I am likely to have on things like the cover image of my novel when it's published. It teaches you the importance of title and how to write a synopsis.

Most importantly it gives you a fantastic insight into how publishing works and how booksellers play a part in how your novel will be marketed and sold.

'How to Get Published: Secrets from the Inside' by Stewart Ferris is a fantastic book that all writers who aspire to be published need to read. No more fanciful ideas, it's time to move into fruitful expeditions and learn a thing or two about publishing. Don't be frightened, it is an interesting and enlightening experience that will keep you coming back and wanting to share it with your fellow writers...or not, you sneaky little thing.
