Tedd grew up with three brothers. His family lived on a farm in Pennsylvania for several years then returned to Elmira until Tedd was ten years old. His father's work then required that they move to Gainesville, Florida. There, Tedd's first art lessons in an abandoned dentist's office over the Happy Hour pool hall eventually led to a fine arts degree from the University of Florida.
He and his wife, Carol, started their family in Tallahassee where Tedd worked as a commercial illustrator. Carol, a kindergarten teacher, drew Tedd's attention to children's books. Their first son, Walter, inspired his breakthrough picture book, NO JUMPING ON THE BED!.
He and his family now live in Elmira. His second son, William, now stars in NO MORE WATER IN THE TUB!, a sequel to his first book. He has now published over 50 books as author and illustrator.
It’s field trip day at Buzz’s school and Fly Guy has snuck into his friend’s backpack. On the bus, Buzz and Fly Guy realise that the journey has taken them to... a flyswatter factory. There, the class learns all about the new technology surrounding flyswatters, which makes Fly Guy quite upset. When a ‘test fly’ is released to show the might of this machine, Fly Guy has had enough and jumps into action. Buzz could not be prouder of his friend, who has saved the day. Neo loved this piece and laughed when we read all about the wonders of Fly Guy in the factory.
This is my favorite Fly Guy. They visit a flyswatter factory... WITH DISASTROUS RESULTS! The drawings really made me laugh, especially the guy in the fly suit and the Super Swatter robot. Good stuff. I still say a fly is a disgusting pet though. I don't approve of that.
Well, to be honest, it was my students that really wanted to hear this book. So I read it to them. They loved it and would give this 5 stars. I didn't like it as much, but I want to honor them, so I include their opinion here. The boys were especially interested and like that this comes from a series of "CHAPTER BOOKS"!!! Kids are so funny!

Miss is really enjoying the Fly Guy series of books and will have a go at some of the often repeated words like "fly guy" and "buzz". She likes the often slightly gross pictures of what Fly Guy likes to eat. This edition has them go on a class trip to a flyswatter factory (super robot and all) but FG and Buzz prevail!
Miss 5 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
After Fly Guy sneaks to school inside Buzz's backpack, they find out it's time for a class field trip. Buzz brings Fly Guy along in his shirt pocket. What could go wrong? Then they find out where they're going on the trip: a flyswatter factory!
Fly Guy finds himself on a field trip with Buzz and his classmates to a flyswatter factory. Not a good location to be, but during a demonstration Fly Guy comes to the rescue of a young fly, and wrecks havoc of the flyswatter factory.
Fantasy Fiction Independent Reading This book is a very interesting text for children. I would have my students read this book independtly and discuss their opinions in class as a whole. This book has fantasy qualities that would be very interactive for the children to learn and imagine.
Humorous children's fiction book. This is a fun story to read as a child about a fly trying to escape a fly swatter. This would be a great independent read or even a fun read along with students with a quick writing response.
A Cute, Colorful Read! Fun to read. Very colorful with lots of excitement (Oh no! What Next?!). I wished it was longer. I'll bet all kids would like their fields to be like this one. My grandson enjoyed the book.
Silly. Cute. An easy read for young readers. "Chapters" so they can say they are reading "Chapter Books?" Not sure I'd read it to a group, but I'd set it out for the kinders to read.
