Quite boring - Too much details in less than 50 pages.
so, instead of giving full details (and drawings of the changes) of the two class of carriers, the author tries to describre every change and the whole history of every ship. So you have an overall part about the class and twelve or so ten-lines-paragraphs about each carrier of Essex and Independence class

Stille is the master of the Osprey format. He balances narrative, analysis, and specifications quite well.
