In the hustle game, loyalty is something that shouldn't be taken for granted. In the game of love, loyalty is something many take for granted. In the game of life, loyalty is something that is earned. Whatever game you are playing…in the end you will understand the saying, "This Game Has No Loyalty."
June first discovered his love of writing in public school where he dazzled his teachers with his creative short stories and intriguing poems. His writing was acknowledged locally when it was featured in his graduating class yearbook. He abandoned his love for writing for the dangerous life on the streets of Brooklyn. His involvement changed from petty crimes to becoming a major distributor of illegal drugs out of state. During his tenure in these activities he was convicted and incarcerated. His time behind bars gave him new insight but when released on parole he went right back to the life that put him behind the barbed wire fences. here was no stability in his life and the only person he was responsible for was himself but the birth of his first daughter changed the way he viewed life and he set out to change his existence. June enrolled into college to pursue his Degree where his creative writing ability was again showcased in this setting and recognized by his English professors. While pursuing his degree, tragedy struck and one of his closest friends was brutally murdered. Not knowing how to deal with the loss he channeled his pain into something that came to him naturally, he wrote the story. June began penning his novel This Game Has No Loyalty and incorporated his own experiences into his writing to produce the “realness” his story needed to capture his audience. He created his publishing company, FourShadough Publishing to self publish his body of written work. In 2013 he was discovered by Ashley & JaQuavis and offered a spot on as a signed author to their new publishing company O.W.L.- Official Writers League. His title International Regime is scheduled to be released 2014-2015. June is currently penning the follow up to his This Game Has No Loyalty Series.
I just finish reading book 3 of This Game Has No Loyalty III - Love Is Pain. The only thing I can say is "Dang June, You did your thing..." I could not put the book down, I started reading book 1 on Thursday and was finish with book 3 on Saturday afternoon, I am so sleepy Lol. But that is how it is when you have a good book like yours. With the drama with Rock, Junior, Mooka, La and everyone one else I think I stop breathing at one point... June can really tell a story.. I am telling everyone who reads this review, please pick up June's books This Game Has No Loyalty 1, 2, and 3 you wil love them.
In the debut novel This Game Has No Loyalty by June readers meet main character Junior a hustler and this is truly his coming of age story within the drug game. Under the wing of his cousin he learns the do’s and don’ts and combine with his ambition and motivation to not lose is what catapults this hustlers success on the criminal work ladder. Just like a classic Notorious BIG song more money definitely brings more problems and Junior finds himself fighting to keep that number spot . A title often hard to keep since jealousy ,envy and greed are never too far behind when there is THE man out there making money,, This upsets a lot of people and that is where friends will quickly become foes.
The Game Has No Loyalty tells a tale but the authors writing style makes the story realistic, yet unique but in this genre . As a reviewer I have read plenty of titles in this genre who compose the same recipe which in all actuality is taking away from the industry and what June brings is refreshing. I will not categorize this novel because his main character was NOT just a hustler looking for the next come up.
There are works in the genre currently offered by other authors that give offer you the painfully realism of the good, bad and ugly I felt from this book, but in my opinion these works are often offered by authors such as June and others that are often over looked or not given the proper attention they deserve.
Life lessons are within the pages of this novel and being as though this is part of a trilogy I am looking forward to see what happens next. Readers will enjoy this action filled crime drama, sounds like a movie right? Indeed, that is the must have component for a great read, one that has you able to visualize the authors words. Kudos to June!
This book kept me intrigued with all the characters. The plot certainly thickens through out the novel. The suspense level is there along with your not so everyday hood exposure. It puts you in the shoes of a up and coming drug dealer, a wannabe kingpin, and a O.G. that defies death at all cost. When you're in the game it's hard too see who you can trust. Loyalty is at a premium.
Good read. I wasn't into it enough to want to read the rest of the books in the series for some reason. Maybe I'm just burned out on series right now and I didn't realize this would be one, but it was a good read and some one else might find it a 5 star
Loyalty: the quality or state or instance of being loyal.
The life of a street hustler is hard so you try to surround yourself with trustworthy people but sometimes the hard reality of it is there truly is no loyalty in the game.
Junior is an up and coming drug dealer in the Baptiste housing projects where his girlfriend Shondra lives and he is well know and respected there but there is always somebody who is going to try to take your place. Craig is Junior's cousin and his connection to the dope game. Craig is schooling Junior on who and how to trust people, how to run his business and the dope life period but is Junior listening or is he just blowing smoke in Craig's face? Kendu and Lakim work for Junior in Baptiste and business is real good but if there is a way to make business better, who wouldn't take that opportunity? KB and Stump are some two-bit stick-up guys who go around robbing drug dealers and dope runners looking for the next big come up. KB doesn't really have the heart for it, Stump has the heart of a true killer and when Stump comes up with a master plan for a big heist then it is going to change the projects and the dope game as they know it altogether. Through a series of events in one way or another all of these characters lives are going to cross paths and it is going to show where everyone loyalty truly lies.
June Miller brings out the street life in these characters, I felt like I was watching a major motion movie! I was so caught up in the storyline that I felt like I was on the stoop in Brooklyn watching it go on right in front of me! This is a extraordinary writer and he draws you in and leave you needing more. Kudos to June and I am eagerly looking forward to your next installment in this series!
This book will leave you wondering about your relationships with the people that are the closest to you. Junior is the boss who puts all of his trust in his woman, friends, and workers. Shondra is his ride or die chick until the side chick shows up. Junior spends a lot of time trying to get other people before they get him. All of the characters are entertaining in this story. You will not want to miss this rollercoaster ride. Hats off to you, June.
L O Y A L T Y ... SEE HOW IT'S "SPACED OUT"? THAT'S HOW IT IS IN REAL LIFE. SPACED OUT & HARD TO FIND AND THAT WAS A LESSON THAT SEEMS TO HAVE TAKEN JR A WHILE TO REALIZE THAT AND THE WAY THE GAME WAS TRULY PLAYED. I ENJOYED THIS BOOK IT WAS MY FIRST TIME READING THIS AUTHOR WORK IT WILL NOT BE MY LAST BECAUSE I'M READY TO READ THE REST OF THE SERIES TO SEE HOW THINGS PLAY OUT
Junior should of listened more to his cousin advice. Cause ain't nothing worst then when a woman is scorned. Muffin should of respected her place. Poor Shonda she did the ultimate betrayal. Rock just want to be king
I really enjoyed this book! It was like a REALLY good urban movie! So many twists and turns. June you did an EXCELLENT job of weaving a great tale! Now on to part 2!!!
