Also published as Harrison Denmark. Robert Weinberg (also credited as Bob Weinberg) was an American author. His work spans several genres including non-fiction, science fiction, horror, and comic books.
Weinberg sold his first story in 1967. Most of his writing career was conducted part-time while also owning a bookstore; he became a full time writer after 1997.
Weinberg was also an editor, and edited books in the fields of horror, science fiction and western. In comics, Weinberg wrote for Marvel Comics; his first job was on the series Cable, and he later created the series Nightside.
The second of two books about The Logical Magician, this one recounts how Jack Collins has to find a way to stop The Old Man Of The Mountain from auctioning off a deadly anthrax serum. Along the way his fiancé, Merlin's daughter, is kidnapped by an Afreet, Jack encounters some old enemies, and meets some new ones before he triumphs. There are several in-jokes for the cognoscenti, but that knowledge is not necessary to enjoy this yarn. Recommended.
This book wasn't as good as the first book. I think I did not like this book as much as the first because I was not as familiar with the mythology in this book. It got sort of confusing. It was still an entertaining read and I enjoyed the modern technology versus magic and mythology aspect but I still liked the first book better.
