After watching the full season of "Once Upon a Time" I thought I'd catch up on a few fairy tales to see who or what next season might have in store. This was not the book to read for that purpose. The classics were all the watered-down versions and there were a few I'd never heard of that were not well written, entertaining and wouldn't even hold a child's interest, in my opinion. Better for me to read the original Hans Christian Andersen and the Brothers Grimm stories, which I plan to do.

Classic stories nicely retold, with a few new ones as well! The illustrations were pretty nice as well, although wish they would have had color. Still, really liked this collection and looking forward to reading the other three in the same series! :)

it was good even though I had to return it to the library before I finished it.

The book Snow White and Other Stories, by Rochelle Larkin, is a book telling about fairy tales. Some fairy tales you have heard of and some maybe you haven't. But not all of these fairy tales are told the exact same way you have heard them when they were told to you when you were younger. For instance, the story of Snow White saying how the huntsman was sent out to kill snow white and was to bring back her heart to prove she was really dead. However, in the book her was told to bring back her heart , lungs, liver, and so on. The moral of the stories were still there to tell in the stories. So i would give this book a three out of five stars because the parts i liked were just the moral of the fairy tale stories and the parts i didnt were just the weird different little details in the story that i wasn't really used to. It's a little hard to go from one story you have been told when you were younger to being told the same story again but a little different. But in the end, fairy tales are one of my favorite stories to which with helped me stay through the book and finish it through all the good and different parts in the story.
