Mary Engelbreit grew up studying the illustrations in the vintage storybooks of her mother’s childhood, and she developed a unique style that harkens back to those simpler times. Mary’s distinctive images have made her a celebrity to millions, who eagerly snap up gift items, calendars, books, fabrics, and more.
Mary’s New York Times bestselling The Night Before Christmas is part of the holiday tradition for families across the country. Other beloved additions to a child’s first bookshelf are her New York Times bestselling Mary Engelbreit's Mother Goose and Mary Engelbreit's Nursery Tales, which are perfect companions to this volume.
My niece "took" this from the village library (back when we had one) over a decade ago. Just found out she "took" it tonight. Read it in one sitting and 🥹🥺—this is one of those books that you can read as an eight-year-old or in your twilight years, and it'll always speak to you.
I've read this book many times. It was given to me by an extended family member (I think it was sometime after graduating college; it was the perfect gift at the perfect occasion at the perfect time). The theme is inspiring and encouraging, because there really is only one direction worth going.
I love this book. It never gets old. I gave a copy to my Mother along time ago before she passed away & she loved it so much too. This book has sentimental value to me. My daughter is now in love with it as well.
I have loved the picture, on the cover of this book, for many years. I really bought the book for the cover. I was surprised at the sentiment inside the book. I truly love all parts of "Don't Look Back". A very fun read and the illustration are delightful!
Read to me by a 7 year-old. Great wisdom for children although some words ought to have been edited better. I love that kids are given these books. The drawings are good and at level of the young readers.
