In the first novella of the Stormy Weather series, Sebastian Deveraux is the alpha of his Cajun wolf pack. His brothers keep reminding him that he needs to pick a mate, but the only woman he wants skipped town years earlier. Then to his surprise, fate answers his dreams.
Amanda St. James has always loved Sebastian but thought he didn’t love her in return. Now a NYC reporter, she returns home to Louisiana for a funeral and then receives flowers from Sebastian, or so she believes. After he finds her trespassing on his property, a decade worth of pent-up aggression and lust finally explodes between them.
Sebastian and Amanda’s biggest obstacle to overcome was their lack of communication and continual arguing. Their relationship moved very fast after so many years apart, but the first sex scene ended up being a dream sequence, which lead to a little confusion because it seemed to be part of the current narrative, not inside the heroine’s head.
The writing is good other than a few punctuation errors, and I like the French Cajun words thrown in. I’ve read one other book in this series (read out of order), and I would like to read the rest as well.
