What a hoot they were. How Stanley didn't clock her over the head with a bottle of Bailey's was beyond me.
I had to drop half a star as the ending was just too rushed ... and there were still some unanswered questions. And some of the aspects of the ending were a bit too implausible for me. I can suspend the reality a lot but one or two things just didn't work for me.

Wowza!
Another amazing series by Kimberley Chambers. I often wonder how authors come up with the things they write about. Was it a place they visited that prompted them to write their story? Was it a lovely or not so lovely memory from their past? Was it something they daydreamed about? As much as I have tried I cannot grasp where this brilliant lady would come up with these storylines.
My first exposure to Ms. Chambers was with her Butler’s series that I read just about a year ago. At the time I wasn’t sure I would like it. Her writing was a style I hadn’t read before. But I kept an open mind while reading and I ended up absolutely loving it. Well, this series was fabulous too. This lady can write some pretty crazy and suspenseful stuff. Storylines that will hook you from page one and keep you turning the pages like crazy.
I know many of my friends haven’t read her books but I have to say she is VERY MUCH WORTH your time. Check out her stuff!!!

Another 5 Star Read from Kimberley Chambers
Absolutely brilliant and a rightly deserved 6 Stars for this series.
This series for me had everything I look for in a crime book.
It was exciting, moving, funny and a roller coaster read from start to finish.

It is now 1993 as the series races along. Chambers does give a brief overview in the opening chapters of how we got to where we are in the series. My advice is to read them in-order. I would say this is imperative.

*If you plan on reading the first two parts of this trilogy please do not read this review as it will inevitably contain spoilers, as the story is so much further along now*
Every now and then as a reader you come along a new author that blows you away. You wonder how you had never picked up one of their books and if anybody else can match up to them. This is how I felt when I started reading Martina Cole in the early days. Don't get me wrong, she is still a great author but I found myself becoming more and more disappointed with her books. When I picked up my first Kimberley Chambers book I was transported back to what I fondly call the Martina Cole `early days'. Kimberley Chambers has written three excellent stand-alone books and has now finished and released the final part of the O'Hara/Mitchell trilogy.
Having read the first two parts I had a good idea of the characters and what they had been through to get to the stages they were at now. The Mitchell and O'Hara family are still battling, only this time Eddie Mitchell's daughter Frankie is in prison and there are new additions to the family such as Eddie's partner Gina. The characters themselves are first class and they are rough around the edges and frighteningly real. Because this was part 3, I was itching to know what would become of the two families and boy was I unprepared for the rollercoaster I was taken on. The book is a hefty 432 pages and we are thrown straight in at the deep end with both families from page 1.
The wonderful thing about reading her books is the sheer speed at which you are catapulted into the characters worlds. I worry about writing too much involving the characters and storyline as it is easy to give away spoilers but I will say this. You will be on the edge of your seat and will not want to put the book down. This book was read in just over a day and it didn't leave my side for too long.
The last quarter of the book is full of suspense and what if's and I found myself jigging up and down because I was so eager to get to the end. I wasn't disappointed at all and thought that Kimberley Chambers has written her best work yet. The book was wrapped up nicely, but not perfectly which again adds that touch of realism to it. The only disappointing thing for me is that as usual I have been impatient and will now have the job of counting the months until her next release.
People tend to read the same type if books and I have seen many comments saying that she is as good as Martina Cole. That statement is in my opinion incorrect, she is better than Martina Cole. For all you people that are on the lookout for a new author, if you haven't tried KC yet, maybe now is the time to start!

I have loved reading the Mitchell's / O'Hara books and this is the 3rd instalment. Kimberly writes very hard hitting gritty novels and this was no exception. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would seriously recommend!

My Review
If you haven't read the previous two books, stop and go and pick them up, to really get the full story you need to go back to the beginning. So, Frankie Mitchell is in the jail, her kids are on the missing list, Eddie is out for justice and doesn't even know the full extent of Frankie's imprisonment.
Oooh, we found out the real reason Frankie attacked in the last book and Frankie isn't for telling anyone the truth, she knows the retribution that will follow if the truth is exposed. As long as her ex sticks to their deal, but Jed isn't a man to be trusted and Frankie isn't just a Mitchell in name. This book sees a lot of the past actions catching up with our characters, cause and effect and things will never be the same for the O'Hara's or the Mitchell's.
This book makes for tough reading in some parts, abuse, violence, drugs, sex, betrayal, brutality particularly in the initial scenes in the woman's prison. The tense relationship between father and daughter may also evoke strong emotions in some readers, despite it being an accident Frankie can't get over her father killing her mother. In her time of need she can't help but turn to her father, it is an emotive ride for Frankie, trying to do right by her family whilst trying to protect her kids.
Chambers weaves a web of dark characters, giving them depth and dimensions that you can't help but love some and loathe others. I have always said if you like the Kray style stories and timelines you will enjoy these books but you have to start at the beginning, 4/5 for me this time.

What a book....that Jed... more evil in him than any of the Mitchell's or the Butlers put together. Kimberley Chambers truly has managed to stir up so many emotions good and bad in me throught these books and I've thoroughly enjoyed every word and every page read. Im so ready to read the Betrayal and Queenie...The only other Author to have such a great impact on me was Steven King.

What a corker! Didn't want to put it down, couldn't wait to pick it up. Loved it from the minute I started reading it. I'm definitely going to look at other books by Kimberely Chambers. It was such a good read and totally gripping. You've GOT to give it a go, especially if you enjoy reading Martina Cole.

I get to the stage with Kimberley Chambers books that I dread to turn the pages as I get so involved and know that things don't normally work out well, but then on the other hand I can't turn the pages quick enough. With this series and the Butler family series I have been enthralled and on the edge of my seat, but there is some bad language and gruesome details which will not be some readers choice.

I was about 54% through this book on my Kindle at midnight last night, I reached 100% before I realised it was 3am. I could not put my Kindle down without finishing this book. Despite how frustrating it was at times, I really enjoyed it. The only problem is the amount of unanswered questions because of the poor ending. An epilogue would have been great but instead it was left on a cliffhanger. I love a good cliffhanger between books but as this is the last in the series it's just annoying to end on a cliffhanger (although her website does say she will return to the series 'one day' which doesn't sound like it'll be anytime soon). That said Kimberley Chambers is a fantastic author and one I am so pleased to have discovered.

An unstoppable page turner just like its predecessors. I think Chambers is one of those writers who can make the most dysfunctional families seem desirable. There's a huge part of me that wants an Eddie Mitchell in my life.

This was a brilliant ending to the series. I particularly liked the way it started as you wasn't sure which gang had the upper hand. The book continued the saga between the Mitchell's and O'Hara's until it's conclusion and even contained a surprise at the end.
It was a good read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Absolutely fucking brilliant! That was the final in the Mitchell and O’Hara trilogy and, like the two before, had me on the edge of my seat for the last third. There’s a bit of humour in these books too, with Joyce and Stanley. They’re like George and Mildred and give some welcome relief from the fighting and killing, a moment to pause for breath. All in all, an incredible trilogy.

Wow! The final part to the Mitchells and O'Hara's story and so gutted it's finished now. I was anxious reading parts of this as I was literally on the edge of my seat with nerves at what was happening. I kinda didn't want it to end as I wanted to know more. Definitely a series to recommend absolutely loved it.

On to the third book Stanley and Joyce are still thoroughly entertaining. Frankie is still having a shit time. I still really despise Jed. The ending was how I imagined it hardly a hea but that life. All in all a great trilogy and completely unputadownable .

Stunning job again KC.
Perfectly narrated by Annie Aldington - honestly she's the best narrator in the business, how she plays that many characters so faultlessly is beyond me.

Good book but I feel there's so many unanswered questions by the end. Hope there's a fourth book to tie up any loose ends. If so, would make my rating a four stars.

Nevertheless, things start looking up for Frankie when Jed moves their trailer onto Sammy's land and Frankie makes friends with Kerry, Sammy's partner.
Nothing ever goes well for long, of course, and when Frankie suspects Jed of cheating on her, her investigations lead to the horrible truth about Jed's secret.

The Last Word:
Joycie and Stanley are a hoot as always.
We see Joey's transition from the sidelines and his transformation into an indispensable character.
Ronny and Paulie become the side-show that Eddie could do without.
There are some births, a spattering of deaths, and a marriage along the way.
We're also introduced to a few new and interesting characters.
Kimberley Chambers masterfully weaves together this menacing Easter-egg hunt of a series!
So if you're an avid reader of crime fiction, a mystery junkie, or someone of the thrill-seeking persuasion, then you'll love the Mitchell & O'Hara series.

The secret concerns Eddie, but Frankie knows that if she tells her father, he'll do something impulsive and end up back in prison. This secret is also the thing standing between Frankie and her chances of seeing her children again.
Frankie is in an impossible position, but with a couple of unlikely allies, she tries to make things right. Things, however, never go according to plan!
The Last Word:
Joycie and Stanley are a hoot as always.
We see Joey's transition from the sidelines and his transformation into an indispensable character.
Ronny and Paulie become the side-show that Eddie could do without.
There are some births, a spattering of deaths, and a marriage along the way.
We're also introduced to a few new and interesting characters.
Kimberley Chambers masterfully weaves together this menacing Easter-egg hunt of a series!
So if you're an avid reader of crime fiction, a mystery junkie, or someone of the thrill-seeking persuasion, then you'll love the Mitchell & O'Hara series.

Another fantastic story, although it wasn't as I expected. With Frankie in prison for attempting to stab her horrible boyfriend, Jed, all she wants is to see her children. I thought the most predictable storyline would be 'that secret' getting out and when it did, the shit would hit the fan in epic proportions!
But praise to the author for not being predictable.
The story instead plods along at an even pace, with alternating family dramas consuming the majority of the plot. At times I got impatient, especially with the shenanigans involving Frankie's Grandparents (and Joyce really annoyed me in this one); but what I love about Kimberley's characters is they feel like real people! You laugh with them, cry with them and on occasions, want to tear your hair out. To feel so emotionally involved with them is the hallmark of a talented writer with a nose for real life. So yes, the storyline did not pan out as predicted... but there was twist in the middle that shook me hollow and so heartbreaking. How a family could survive this awful turn of events was a miracle, but I found the final chapters utterly gripping, leaving me hungry for more! I highly recommend this series, which is one of the best I've ever read.

This series was amazing,I felt like I knew these people.These people are like fammlee.I wanted the best for some and death to others.
There was lots of twists,turns and shocks.my only gripe was how Babs spoke (and I love this author's work) no British Jamaican would sweet child everything we are not in Texas America maybe speak to a british/Jamaican just for terminology.( Felt quite patronising) I really liked the friendship between Babs and frankie,but not the language used. Not authentic. My heros were Joey and ed mitchell. More please miss chambers. Oh haha and Stanley need their own series, poor pigeon Pat. Oh (another oh) will we ever know about Georgie girl and Harry them darn kids. And Alice needs to f Her grandmother

This book took me a while to finish BUT I’ve not long just had a baby so please excuse me🤣 I’m so sad this is the last novel to Kimberley Chambers series of Eddie Mitchell and his family. I love all the characters and how they’re all portrayed differently. I feel awful for Frankie in the end and part of me wants to know what happened after all that went on. I love how babs (Frankie’s best friend) is a new character in the story. It’s also nice to see that joey and Eddie do get on eventually. I can’t believe he remarried too! I hoped he would stay single but nevermind! Definitely worth the 5 stars!!!!
