Very Entertaining

The storyline had just the right amount of drama. I enjoyed the dynamics between the best friends and the way they would come to the aid of each other. The only thing I didn't care for as much while reading the story was that each scene blended with the next. Which made it challenging to know that now we are discussing a different character from the story. Otherwise I enjoyed this book and since it was my first time reading a book by this author I Iook forward to reading the rest of the series.

I was in awe at the superb writing talents of Ms. Winter on this novel. The story was filled with twists, turns, and new discoveries. She combined the elements of politics and the drama it entails. I was on the edge of my sit during the entire ride of Sherise, Billie, and Erica. Ms. Winters is a great writer who knows how to combine many characters, situations, and introductions without confusion or having to sit with a highlighter to remember characters. Ms. Winters has the ability to capture your mind and interest so you wont forget anyone! This was a very exciting novel which i KNOW is coming with a sequel!

I loved this book about three friends with different issues. Erica was very suspicious of everybody and everything. Billie was a little naive and insecure. Sherise was just a wild child. But there drama's kept you wanting more. Can't wait for the next one. Angela Winters has me hooked once again.

I enjoyed the view park series, however back on top was my least favorite of this author. some parts were predictable and the story line was not all that great.

These three ladies showed through their actions that they would always be friends even through disagreements.

Sharise had the perfect marriage and is the bossiest of the three. She is very ambitious and is trying to forget where she came from; Billie has a heart of gold and is the mediator between Ericka and Sharise; Ericka is patient and just wants to do the right thing.

I'm in DC so it's good to read something and try to place the location. Three strong women doing there things and as life would have it, issue after issues. Good reading but not really gripping. Love the twist with Erica and Sherise, but nothing I didn't expect. Still good sisterhood relationship. Can't wait to read the book 2.

It was a good book for the most part however the ending threw me off. I think Angela could have ended the story differently. The ending doesn’t give any hint that there will be a part two, but ended right after the storm. It left a lot of unanswered questions like what happened to Erica & Terrell ? And did Erica & Jonah develop the father-daughter relationship?

I need me some sister friends like Sherise, Erica, and Billie but minus their drama. As the old saying goes the grass ain't always greener on the other side.

Mrs. Winters is a captivating drama soap opera writer with some out in out twist and turns in the plots. I picked this up, as you can see, because of the title. Anything do with DC, especially a drama, I will buy and read. This was good and while I was in vacation in my home town of DC, I got the rest of them.

Sherise, wife, mother and an “Erica Kane” schemer (I guess that old school), works on Capitol Hill. She has flirted, screwed, royally and physically to get the top job. Her husband, Justin, is your average handsome nice guy who has helped her in the past get prestigious jobs, but either he is not aware or just don't want to know how dirty his wife plays.

Erica, a young woman, raising her younger brother after their mother died, is in love with Terrell. Terrell is a hustler. When Erica gets a prestigious job at the Pentagon with one of the most powerful political men, Jonah, something tells Terrell and Sherise, her best friend, that her boss, who Sherise is screwing, has more in his back ground than the political games normally played in DC.

Billie, divorced from her spine-chilling, controlled freak husband, wants to become the lawyer for justice not money. I don’t like this character too much because she is aware of her crazy husband antics and she continues to have sex with him. Claims she cannot resist him, even when he starts dating a white girl and uses his kid to blackmail her. Dumb girl!!

Three women from Southeast DC climb out of the ghetto to great jobs, clothes and connections, but the struggle they cross through to get out and stay out is not based upon what they know is true; and they don't realize or ignore that lies and backstabbing antics has a nasty way of showing up. The book was fun, fast and just exciting to read. You do keep turning the pages to see what happens next. That’s the gist of a great book; you keep coming back and can’t stop until it’s done

Sherise, Erica, and Billie grew up in Southeast DC and have vowed never to go back. Sherise is married with a new baby, but her methods to succeed in her career put her relationship with her family in jeopardy. Erica receives an unexpected promotion and a long overdue proposal from her boyfriend, Terrell. Terrell has a hard time putting his hustling days aside and sees a great opportunity with Erica's new boss, which will set him up for a good pay day. Billie is newly divorced, but she is having a hard time getting her cheating ex-husband out of her bed and her life. Angela Winters has started another page-turning series. If you enjoyed the View Park series, then you will definitely enjoy Back on Top. (If you haven't read the View Park Series, then you're sleeping on some great books.) The drama keeps coming with this one. Winters goes into just the right amount of depth with the characters that you have an attachment to them. I can't wait to read the next one!

A lot of ambition is exhibited by the three main characters in this book. They worked hard to escape the grinding poverty of the District of Columbia. It is a tale of secrets and sleeping one's way to the top for two of the characters. The other one is trying to escape a cheating ex who she is still sleeping with. Guys are not the only ones who engage in sexcapades. It was an interesting read.

The exposition drew me in, but the plot seemed to drag on for quite one time before the suspense began to build. This didn't quite meet my expectations.
