Rate this book
Fans of Meg Cabot, Sophie Kinsella & Carly Phillips will enjoy this fun contemporary romance for teens and adult readers by bestselling author Lucy Kevin.

When Alexa is sent by a magazine to be an undercover contestant on the reality TV series "Falling For Mr. Right" she assumes the worst part of the assignment will be having to act like a brainless bimbo to win the affection of an arrogant guy out looking for his fifteen minutes of fame. Color her shocked when it turns out not only are several of her fellow contestants intelligent, funny women...but Brandon – aka Mr. Right - isn't at all the kind of guy she thought he'd be.

Now what's Alexa supposed to do when instead of digging up dirt for her cover story, she finds herself falling way too fast for the guy she’s supposed to tear apart in her first big feature story?

I am not impressed with this book. First of all, Overdrive had it listed as a YA novel but the subject matter seems a bit too sexual for that and the characters are definitely not young so I think it must have been a mistake. I thought the idea of a "Bachelor" type show in a novel was a fun one but this just moved too fast and didn't have enough depth to make it believable or enjoyable for me.

The sun is setting. Brandon sees a woman... and then she opens her eyes and he is mesmerised by her blue eyes. How fecking close is he to her? Come on, be realistic. He would have to be pretty close to her in dim light to see the colour of her eyes.. creepy or what?

I gave up. Not rating

Feminism.
Bachelor expose.
Romance.

Huh, an interesting combination, but terrible execution. The only 'spark' between the two protagonists was of a physical nature, which was only halfheartedly attempted to be more than. It was really pathetic, stilted, and laughably unbelievable. The premise was interesting. Maybe there just wasn't enough time to develop the character or the plot.

I could only get through about 1/3 of this book before I couldn’t handle the faux-feminist “cool girl” cliché. Like, we get it, you’re not like other girls because you don’t like makeup. I immediately shut the book after she referred to “going back to ugly Alexa.” Ugh. PSA: YOU CAN BE A FEMINIST WHO IS GIRLY AND LIKES CLOTHES AND MAKEUP. I literally created a goodreads account so I could write this review. That’s how bad it was.

This is my first Lucy Kevin book and I figured I would like it because hello it's technically Bella Andre. I love that Brandon and Alexa got to meet before the show and that he started falling for her then. They had to work through the show and of course all the drama with it but Brandon made her realize in the end that it was ok that they fell fast. Great book!

What a great read

What a great read from Lucy. This was such a fun story to read and I want more from them Alexa and Brandon was sweet together and even more they were funny and charming apart, love the storyline it’s like something you’d read about in real life with all the reality shows on tv. I’d love to read more about whether Jared and Brigit get together

I liked the writing style quite a bit, but the insta-love and lack of other characters on the show made this feel somewhat unsatisfying. Also, I was not impressed with Alexa's brand of "I'm not like other girls" feminism. That's not feminism!

Tbh I didn't expect this to be great. It was a really easy read. The romance didn't have too much chemistry or development. Sorta an insta-love. I also found the main character being all I'm a feminist and I hate makeup thing sorta off putting. Cute concept but it could have been executed better.

Love at First SIght!

When two people meet at a hot dog stand, neither can get their thoughts and dreams off the other. Both have signed contracts for a tv series and must abide by their rules for two weeks. With a lot of twists and turns, love prevails!

As we approach Valentine's Day, I thought it would be perfect to share a sweet story that is light and fun, but also has a little love in it. Centered around a young woman who isn't quite sure about herself and hasn't had the best of luck in the dating world. Through the stories, she comes to find out that first you must love yourself before you can be loved by anyone - a lesson that is best learned through mistakes!

A sweet novella that takes you behind the scenes of a dating show and to be honest, this book could be called fluff, but it was interesting to think how honest this behind the scenes glance could be. With a little twist at the end, this book was lent to me by my sister and if she takes the time to read a book and send it my way, then any female should read it.

Yes, it is February and I believe this book would be perfect to load on your new ereader for the upcoming beach season, it is just around the corner. A chick lit with fun, romance, and a lot of heart - the perfect recipe.

I don't mind a little fluff and predictability at times, and this book certainly had both. For a 99-cent "Steals & Deals" Nook purchase that took me one toddler nap-time to read, I'm not disappointed. If I'd invested more time or money, I would be VERY disappointed. The characters are two-dimensional at best, the story line is rushed, and the writing often evokes the feeling of listening to a six-year-old describe her day at school while exhausting all the wrong details and glossing over the interesting stuff. Verdict: 2 stars. Fine for a mindless, fluffy read if there's nothing else on the shelf (virtual or otherwise). Skip it if you want to develop any feeling for the characters or laugh more than a little. This book just doesn't live up to the concept's potential.

I didn't love this one. I didn't hate it either, so I guess that's something. Since Lucy Kevin is Bella Andre, I was disappointed that I didn't like it better. I loved the story - I love reality TV stories - but this one was too rushed. And very very predictable, which is okay if the writing is good. If it's not so good, predictable is boring. This is an earlier work - Bella Andre obviously has improved over time. I know this because I've read some of her earlier work and this reminds me of it. I haven't read any other Lucy Kevin, but I have a few in my TBR, so I hope Lucy has improved along with Bella...

What can I say...this story made me smile. This story is The Bachelor on fast-forward and not terribly original (super predictable and not necessarily believable), but that was part of its charm. Sometimes I want to read a story that is just fluffy, fun and cute. I get enough drama in my reading, sometimes its nice to sit down and read for an hour or two and just find it enjoyable. This is certainly an author I plan to throw into rotation on my Nook.

I was looking forward to this book but it was lacking in substance and character development for me. I usually like Bella Andre books so I thought this would follow in her writing style (minus the sex scenes) but several times I thought about putting it down and just starting something else, it just did not hold my interest. I didn't enjoy this one and won't go looking for any more Lucy Kevin books.

This book has def got some hard reviews. If your looking for the next Fifty Shades of Grey this isn't it. This is a simple fun fluff read. Which was exactly what I was looking for. It's short and sweet and light which was perfect for me after reading 3 serial killer novels!! (I had to stop the nightmares!! Lol!) Its well written and a cute little story. Do you already know how it's going to end after chapter 5? Yes! But that's kinda the fun in it!

This is one of those books I got off the Nook for .99. If you asked me, I probobly paid too much. It had the premise to be a fun romantic comedy type of book with a make-fun of shows like the bachelor and bachelorette, but it failed miserably. The writing was aweful and not worth the time to read it.

This one may have been closer to 2 stars - I bought it for my nook for 99 cents ... I have to admit I do enjoy watching the bachelor & this was on that idea of a girl going "undercover" on a similar type of tv show - a light, fluffy summer read that I did want to read to the end. I am pretty much just reading chick lit this summer...

This book was very sweet. It totally reminded me of the Bachelor TV show. If you are a fan you will like this book. I normally would not have read this but B&N had it as a deal book and I cannot resist a deal.
Everything seemed to be very predictable and expected throughout the book.
This would make a good beach read.

I had just finished watching "How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days" so I was in the mood to read something like this. :) This was a perfect mix-up of your typical chick flick and The Bachelor, and it was really cute. Some of the lines at the end were a little cheesy, especially the overuse of words like "sweetheart," but overall a cute, fun read.

I love the book... It was so fun... While I was reading the novel... I can't help but giggle... Alexa and I were somehow related... I tend to hide myself alone... And just like her I also love reading like it was my first love... Brandon was cool... A real gentleman... Not afraid to show his weakness or ( tears )sadness...

Lucy Kevin was so cool... FALLING FAST really rocks!!!

What happens when a feminist journalist goes undercover on a show like the Bachelor? This book is that exact scenario. I think I only paid .99 for it and would have been cheated if it were any more money. Very light and fluffy... very predictible chick lit. Hey... it was a beach read!
