The historical castle and palace complex of the Hungarian kings was established in the 14th century by the Angevin rulers of the Kingdom of Hungary. The first royal residence on the Castle Hill was built by King Bela IV of Hungary between 1247 and 1265. Pretty sure this has nothing to do with the book I picked up when visiting Budapest, but is close enough. Was an ok and informative read but wish it featured more history on Saint Stephen. All the stuff to do with world war 2 was interesting though
