The study of literature adapted for the screen is a growing area of study in schools and universities. Many students have to produce critical essays comparing the novel and film versions of a particular text. Poorly researched and repetitive. Who edited this book? There are so many spelling mistakes, especially in names, it drove me mad.

I read this book for my Bachelor thesis and found it to be very readable. It is pleasantly written, not at all dry matter, and the authors speak modern language to explain their point. There is a lot of information in this book, on both modern and classic Austen adaptations, I really enjoyed reading the chapters on modern after-lives. A few new ideas were also planted in my head, which will definitely make it into my thesis. All in all, an enjoyable book for those who want to look a bit closer at Pride and Prejudice adaptations.

Even though I was using this book as part of a reference for my dissertation I actually read it. Normally I skim or search for familiar words and get to the point so I can move on but I actually read this and enjoyed, the way of writing and the facts and questions that gave me food for thought. Plus it does help that I am in fact in love with everything Pride and Prejudice,

I really enjoyed reading this book for my bachelor thesis. It did not provide me with a lot of new information, nevertheless it was very enjoyable.
