My life is pretty normal now. No demons. No soul contracts. No supernatural serial killers trying to stab me in a dark alley. It’s all very safe. And boring.

But when Lucifer shows up in Hell’s Kitchen, he drags me into a dangerous game of cat and mouse. One I can’t lose. If he gets his hands on me, he’ll bound me to his side. Why? No one knows.

I have a sneaking suspicion it has something to do with a darkness in my past I can barely remember. Whenever I’m near Az, hazy memories spark, and our undeniable connection feels strangely familiar. Whatever the reason, I have to find the answers fast. Or I’ll end up trapped in Hell forever.

Too Stupid To Live Main Character

The first book was 3.5 stars and I read it last night. I wasn't excited about this one, but it was out and so I decided to give it a shot thinking maybe the series needed a little time to iron out the kinks. OMG and do I wish I hadn't done that.

The MC is a bleeping moron. She does one asinine thing after another. Lucifer wants to make me his bride? Let me go and dangle myself in front of him with my.striking one of a kind looks. Disguise my appearance by changing my hair? I couldn't possibly, I like my hair too much to do that even though the Lord Of Hell is literally snapping at my heels.

And her hero isn't winning any awards for the brilliance of his actions either.

Then the world building goes out the window too. In book one demons and angels are competing to win the fate of humanity. If the demons win everything and everyone ends up in hell. Original? No. Believable? Sure. Except in this book suddenly the angels and demons are aliens. WTF?

I was in danger of giving myself a concussion from all the eyerolling I was doing, so I gave up reading at 49%. And then just skimmed to the end...only to have it end in a cliffhanger. Are you kidding me?

DNF. One star. I wish I could go back in time and pick up something else to read. Only good thing is it was KU.

miaaaaaa, pleaseeeeeeee

So something must have happened between the first book and the second because Mia is about 50% more dumb in this book. Like she knows she shouldn't do something, and goes and does it anyway, and it's not brave, it's just stupid. And some of her decisions have just been without logic and it got me very frustrated.

the storyline is continuing nicely, I like the power games between Az and Lucifer, that was fun, but really, the only thing here I really loved was the romance. The tension and the deception between Az and Lucifer was fun, until Mia blew it all.

Will be looking to see how this series ends.

Book 2 continues where we left off.

Still a great storyline. This one a bit more intriguing and mysterious than the first. More is slowly released where Az is concerned. I just wish he had come off a bit more bad ass. I mean he keeps saying there is more power to him than Mia realizes so why the hell is he just taking crap from Lucifer. I mean if you can kick his arse then kick his arse!

Work is kicking my arse so my reviews are gonna be short and sweet for a while 😭

Happy reading,
DD 💕

This is one hell of a ride and once you get on you will not want it to stop! It’s an exciting and entertaining read filled with twists and turns that will make your head spin! The story continues to grow as do the characters and I am very excited to see where the author takes us in the next book!

The second book begins where the first one ended.
Mia's life is normal; no one knows her or her story. There are no demons. There are no soul contacts. Nothing. That is, until she gets bored and tries to sneak back into Hell's Kitchen to see Lucifer.

It's an interesting, mysterious, and intriguing story. I'm still waiting for her to unlock her powers, and I really want to see the powers Az claims he has.

Main character too dumb to live

I liked book one, warts and all, and went into two interested especially as the ending set up two to be a deeper dive into the world. Maybe 5% in I had to put it down and call it. If someone said Jack the ripper was going to kill me in the most awful way possible I would do everything in my power to avoid Jack. Dye my hair, change my city, etc what I wouldn't do is show up at the place where he might be because I'm curious what he LOOKS like (despite having a friend that could tell me) and I definitely wouldn't be trying to get physically close enough to eavesdrop on his conversation. The whole time her inner dialog is going on about how dumb it is and she shouldn't do it, but she did anyway. That's when I stopped caring about Mia and didn't care to read about what other dumb thing she was going to do. For the most part I liked the way the writer writes but it just seemed like Mia was made to do stupid stuff to fit a set plot line. Why would anyone want to keep rooting for a character set to keep doing things so dumb? Legit disappointed because I wanted to find out more about Mia's past but I think I would be rage reading (Why would you GO there, Mia?! Don't do THAT, Mia!, etc) at this point. Would maybe read a future book by the writer in a different series because clearly she writes well enough to become interested/invested in her characters. Rooting for the author and future works but reading about Mia is like watching a train wreck.

DNF. I made it 7% and couldn’t stand the heroine. I actually liked the first book and the heroine too (most of the time). Couldn’t stand the heroine in this book because…
1) in the first book she couldn’t find a job, had no money and was living on her best friends couch. By the end of the first book, Az (hero) got her a decent job and an apartment. Then in this book it begins with her griping about how boring her job is, how little money she makes and her small apartment.
2) She pining and obsessing over a guy she knew for one month.
3) She decides to walk to Hell’s Kitchen by herself when she knows the devil himself is there and looking for her. This is the stupidest thing ever.
4) She goes to the hero’s club and snoops through the windows just to get a peek at him. Stalker much? Not only could Lucifer be there but she thinks he doesn’t like her. If you think the guy you like just wants to be platonic then don’t spy on him like a stupid school girl. Pathetic!
5) The hero catches her snooping around the club while Lucifer was there and he comes and saves her. He offers to get her out of the country for her protection but she insists on not getting pushed out of her city. If my life was in danger I would do whatever was needed to protect myself.
6) She is super selfish. If Lucifer wants to get to her he could hurt the hero and/or her best friend. This happened in the first book.

All six of these take place in the first 7% of the book. There was no way I could handle her for another 93%.

a bit clumsy

2.7 for me but I rounded down because it just seemed that “clumsy” to me with all the excuses. I’ll explain.

My main issue is how the reasons for any of this happening are executed. They aren’t believable, and some are downright questionable. Now I do think it’s interesting that Mia is given this “mystery” to explain her “hot commodity” status with Lucifer, and I did like the way he acted weird. Like he was trying to hide something. That was cool. And the sex is yummy. But…

There’s just too many small reasons that don’t make sense. It’s like having a bunch of beautiful yellow pencils all neat and clean but their tips are just THAT slightly crooked. It’s small compared to the entire pencil but it’s still So. Noticeable.

So I take it all as clumsy excuses. I just wish it were smoother because I enjoy the world and the idea of demons in a club and shady people from the past. But the weak excuses and the bad “misunderstandings” that had no right to be? Eehhh.

The first book in the series was great but I have to agree with most of the other reviews concerning this second installment.

Mia has lost a great part of her intelligence between the 2 books. All the stuff I loved about her in book 1 - namely calling out all the typical obvious stupid decisions of main characters in other paranormal romance stories such as this one. And then proceeding to actually NOT making the very same mistakes 9 out of 10 times. And the witty talk.... All gone.

All of a sudden she's like the exact opposite, doing the obvious stupid thing 10 out of 10 times and you know... It physically hurts. At about 80% I had to force myself to finish the book, always hoping it would get better. And then that ending - like whaaaaat? Seriously?

But I'm also not quite ready to give up on the series and will give the next and presumably last book a chance.
Maybe this can still be salvaged and the characters will be back to their old selfs from book 1, now that the author accomplished to get the characters into the setting she obviously wanted them to end up in.

Book two of the wonderful demons after dark covenant trilogy. This book was more mysterious focusing on secrets of why Lucifer is so interested in Mia, and Mia’s secret origins. It was action packed heart stopping moments in this book I loved it. This book was highly entertaining and enjoyable book to read with one hell of a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read the next instalment in this trilogy to see what happens next with Mia and Asmodeus and Lucifer. I definitely recommend this book.

Set a few weeks after the previous book Mia now going by as Luba Addams a receptionist working at a book publishing house misses Asmodeus like crazy despite the danger of Lucifer still being in Manhattan and wanting her as a bride she makes the mistake of going to infernal which leads Lucifer to get her scent Asmodeus and Mia go to the fae to disguise her scent as a werewolf when they realise she’s fallen angel which leads to a deadly game of cat and mouse with Lucifer who knows she’s Mia but is playing a game with them to catch them out on their lies Mia and Az must convince him she’s Sansa a werewolf . Lucifer is wary of the east river for some reason, dark secrets from their past is revealed that Lucifer has a box that restores memories and the shocking truth is revealed Mia was once a fallen angel but fell in love with Asmodeus which infuriated Lucifer because Asmodeus became less evil so he killed her, and when she reincarnated as a human he wiped her memories and Asmodeus memories now that they remember they’re determined to never be separated again by Lucifer. But Lucifer kidnaps the legion forcing a dangerous rescue only for Mia To be dragged into hell by Lucifer at the end of the book. Talk about one hell of a cliffhanger.

DNF’d at 60%

I liked the first book. The second doesn’t deliver. The characters are just all so stupid except for the villain apparently. And it makes no sense. They seem to have no memory of conversations that happened just a page beforehand. The fact that they immediately get angry and act betrayed when they just had a conversation agreeing to the plan is just…no. I’m guessing this is going to keep on as the protagonists unable to gain and inch while the antagonists move with impunity, up until the last part of the last book, which is just annoying. I’m not reading hundreds of pages of stagnant plot.

Huge pet peeve, you can’t make the characters dumb to force the story to work and you can’t row in a circle to make books last longer.

Bummer, because it’s an interesting premise.

What a Cliffhanger!

I really really enjoyed this book. A lot of the reviews were so negative and I really felt we could have done without. Constructive criticism absolutely but down right bashing is quite immature in my opinion. On to the book. I love Az and
Mia and I cannot wait to see what happens now that she’s in hell. There were a couple of things which were predictable. For example her changing her hair color. We all knew at some point she’d have to change the color but that didn’t bother me from a readers standpoint. We expect the main characters to sacrifice themselves for each other otherwise we wouldn’t have our happily ever after. Great story and I highly recommend!

A good continuation to the story. It started off fast paced and brought our characters back together quickly after the ending of the first book. Mia made a lot of silly choices in this one but they were also pretty realistic if put in her shoes. I really enjoy the characters in this series each one having their own unique personality and quality. I did very much enjoy learning about Mia's and Az's past but I'm VERY curious to the past between Lucifer and Mia. I'm looking forward to the next book and can't wait to see what happens. I'm also waiting for something to go down with that pigeon, he's way too smart to just be a pigeon.

This was so insanely good, things gets so intense. And as much as I like Asmodeous, I hope I spelt his name right, he's actually not my favourite character. I'm probably one of the very few if not only one who loves Lucifer, there's just something about him in this that makes me melt. The story really plays out well in book 2, there's much more going on that kind of leaves you practically shouting at your screen. OK that's just maybe me being weird, oh and the Legion are just awesome. Those bunch are so funny at times, I could totally picture hanging out with them. This series is definitely becoming one of my favourites of this authors.

Oh the mystery and reveals

Solid story that intrigues and keeps the pages turning. The author did it again with her creative mind.

There's plenty of suspense, mystery, action and romance that's lasted many life times. Talk about Star crossed lovers. Az and Mia truly are the thing romance is all about. I felt their love, their hardships, worries and the bonds of family with everyone they have let into the circle of friends.

All the supporting characters add into the storyline in a way that shows the bonds of friendship and family.

I can't wait to read the finale in the final book.

Must Read!!!

This series is so good I wish I didn't have to sleep and could just read it all in one go.
The game of cat and mouse between Lucifer and the others definitely kept everything interesting and Mia's not so human identity revealed. You could tell there was definitely a spark between her and Asmodeus all along so when the truth of their love was revealed it was a perfect addition 💖
The only thing I found annoying was Mia constantly trying to convince herself that Az didn't care about her when his actions clearly showed he did but they go there in the end I guess.... Can't wait to see how it all wraps up in the last book.
Definitely recommend reading 📚

DNF at 42% because even though I enjoyed the first one enough to overlook the grammatical errors (the past tense of thrust is just thrust not thrusted lol 😂) and the fact that the main character acted like a young teenager instead of a woman in her mid-20s, I just couldn’t get past the inconsistencies from the first book to the second (hello different name change name? And incorrect remembrances of events in the first book by the MC?), not to mention the increasingly ridiculous plot line. Sad, I was hoping it would be so much better.

Oops cliffhanger

A thrilling cliffhanger of an ending of the second instalment which has left me with baited breath of if Mia can get away from the king of hell. Also if Mia and Az will reunite and escape with the legion. Certainly a book for readers and fans of demons, hell and the supernatural world. I’m really looking forward to reading the next book and other series. This instalment is certainly a page turner and very much unexpected plans going astray and characters being led astray.

Az and Mia's story continues . After sending her away to safety she ends up in harms way again cause of her pull to Az. She gets on Lucifer's radar and while they to get away from him or throw him off her scent the tension between her and Az grows even more. We find out her true identity in this book and her connection to Az and why Lucifer is after her.
Lots of action and twists and turns. Sizzling chemistry and two lovable main characters and their friends. You'll be on your toes while reading this book you won't be able to put it down.

Very Good Continuation of the Series

In this book Mia and Az are faced with the King of Hell, Lucifer. For some unknown reason, Lucifer wants to bring Mia to Hell and make her his bride. Mia and Az fight to save themselves from such a fate while keeping their friends safe. The story moves along at a good pace and has lots of twists and turns to keep you interested. This book ends in a cliffhanger. It was a fun read and I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Mia

I liked the background of Mia in the first book. How she stood up for her family. How she did not back down from a**hole men. It made sense.

The lovesick Mia in this book is not the same. She was irritating. She became the problem that I see in a lot of books. She makes stupid choices, then get caught and must be saved. She never has a real plan. Her heart leads her to stupidity and her brain never works.

Waste of my time.

Cliche and badly in need of an editor

I get it. These quick fiction written just for Amazon unlimited are fun fluff. But can we at least have some decent editing, and maybe Just a few less cliche dialogue. It’s boring and as much as this whatever she is rolls her eyes, mine rolled just as much. I’m tired of bad fiction. It’s not even good smut. It’s just bleh. Two stars because I finished it, predictable though it was.

Book 2 had me on an emotional roller coaster. I have not cried from reading a book in a long time. Mia is an awesome female character. I love the fact that Az and Mia were lovers in a past life and the fact that they found each other centuries later is heart warming. Lucifer is a complete jerk as usual. I really hope that in book 3 they destroy him so Az and Mia can remain together as well as the Legion!

Absolutely loved book two of the audio release of this series!

I’m obsessed with these characters. Az is nothing that you would think he would be. And I love the heart his character has…. Or wait… do demons have hearts? 😂

The MFC Mia also had some really good character growth in this book! I feel like with every book she becomes so much more sure of herself and brave. And her and Az’s chemistry is fire 🔥 I cannot wait for the next!

Just WOW

Well, I immediately ordered book 3. Even before leaving the well deserved 5 stars. This book involves Asmodeus, Mia, the Legion and Lucifer. Can't say much more without giving away parts of the story. But, note, I was reading on Kindle Unlimited, have just preordered the next book with no hesitation, and I am buying the first 2 because I will re-read more than once.

Wowza!

Wow! This book was so much better than the first! 😍 Almost from the very beginning, it's Go! Go! Go! Some of the mystery is uncovered, enough to understand the basics, but not enough to get the full picture yet, leaving you salivating for more. That cliffhanger ending was a beauty! Can't wait for the next one! 😁
