Tomas has loved Val ever since he first started working for his father. Tomas knows how cruel Val's father is, and he can no longer look the other way because of how Val is treated. When he's sent to bring Val home, Tomas decides it's time to run with him and keep Val safe even if it means his life. But will Val accept Tomas when he finds out Tomas's secret, one that has nothing to do with love?

I don’t understand all the low ratings for this book? Sure the story wasn’t perfect but I thought it was really enjoyable. My biggest issue with it was that Tom was this big man-slut before him and Val get together. Val was a 22-year old virgin and Tom never even mentions condoms or why he isn’t using one, we can only assume he never uses them and poor Val. I wouldn’t really expect Val to mention them since he seems like her was very sheltered an abused and probably never talked to about safe sex but Tom being older and very experienced should have used them.
Other than that I liked Val a lot and even mostly liked Tom even though he was a little too possessive at times but you could tell he love Val and just wanted him to be safe. The story was well developed if a little quick but it is a novella so it is expected it will develop quick. It was also really funny at parts and just enjoyable.
Val, Valentine, a girly name for a boy that suffer of two cliche: the mamsell-in-distress and girl-with-cock. And he had to cross-dress! Tsss! I prefer Tomas but the fact that he don't listen Val make him lose points. Why did they go to see Tomas's brother remain unclear. Why not going directly on an anonymous town? Not really a good story.
This short novella was really to short for me, and everything developed to fast. Even at the end the main part of this plot, wasn't solved, but then maybe that was not the main point in this story.
This is a fast read, with two fun characters and a bit of tension since they're on the run. The focus is on small, 'pretty' Val trying to decide if he can trust Tom, and big, strong Tom trying to protect Val from everything and overdoing it. What I liked was that they did end up working it out in the end. How or why Tom ended up changing his mind, however, is a complete mystery to me. I'm just glad he did.
I liked the book. i honestly did and usually I can ignore little details that just go missing...
Now with that said if I was only judging the book by focusing on the two characters then yes the book was damn good. I liked the little back and forth between the two men. Too bad Val didn't keep the "pinky" persona lol.
Meh m/m romance about the son of a crime boss who keeps running away from his father, even though his father always sends brutes to beat him up and drag him home. But maybe the latest guy who's tracked him down will be different...
This was sweet, but I thought it could have been much, much longer. There's enough story here for a full-length novel. A good premise, but underdeveloped.
