Here is the "Open Sesame of life"-the hidden formula of how to use your subconscious mind for achievement and success, by the popular author of The Secret of the Ages .
In every hallowed fable, legend, and maxim known the world over-from the parables of Christ to the tales of Ali Baba to the riddles of the alchemists-there hides a secret. For those with eyes to see it, this secret can be life-changing. It is so simple that it hides in plain sight, seen yet unseen every day.
Writing with the characteristic precision and vividness that has made him one of the greatest inspirational authors of the past century, Robert Collier reveals this secret in his little-known classic, The Life Magnet .
What is this great secret? Simply The images that you impress upon your subconscious mind-whether of abundance or lack, failure or success-outpicture the surrounding world in startling and unexpected ways.
In The Life Magnet , Collier shows how to overcome mental obstacles and use this hidden power-which he variously calls the Divine Mind, the subconscious mind, the "Genii-of-your-Mind," and the "Open Sesame of life." Whatever the name, Collier illustrates how it works, why it works, how to summon it, and how to control it for higher good in your life.
Robert Collier was an American author of self-help, and New Thought metaphysical books in the 20th century. He was the nephew of Peter Fenelon Collier, founder of Collier's Weekly. He was involved in writing, editing, and research for most of his life. His book The Secret of the Ages (1926) sold over 300,000 copies during his life. Collier wrote about the practical psychology of abundance, desire, faith, visualization, confident action, and personal development.
If you get put off by size, the 518 pages of this book will intimidate you.
Fear not. This book flows so well that even the slowest reader will be able to get through it in a few hours of dedicated reading.
This book started life as a series of books, and Collier answered reader questions in later volumes.
His idea in a nutshell: all the riches you can ever need lie ready for you to claim them when you can use them.
Since The Secret popularised New Thought and the Law of Attraction in 2006, Christians have had to ask themselves whether Christianity and the Law of Attraction are opposed to each other.
This book gives a satisfactory answer. Your ability to use the Law of Attraction comes through an involuntary connection to the Holy Spirit.
While that connection will come whether you want it or not as you pursue your main goal, this book gives you tools to keep connected to the Holy Spirit all the time.
The Life Magnet is as readable today as when it was written nearly 100 years ago. It will suit anyone interested in the Law of Attraction, but especially those who want to reconcile their Christian faith with the practice of the Law of Attraction.
As I have previously reviewed other works by Robert Collier - "The Secret of the Ages" (favorite)and "Riches Within Your Reach" (2nd favorite), I believed that I would be fatigued of the subject matter and the author.
Not the case with this volume...while I didn't enjoy it as much, I engaged it as a reinforcement of the other two works. At over 500 pages, there is no doubt that Collier was prolific in a relatively short amount of time and his volumes do a great job of balancing the spiritual with the practical.
Not surprising as he had studied to be a priest but then entered business. It supports my Christian beliefs but does not proselytize with doctrine. If you are a disciple of The Bible, then you will not have to leave your faith and perspectives "at the door".
Wealth, achievement and success are not diametrically opposed to being spiritual and having a destiny of purpose...they go hand in hand and that is what Colliers works do better than just about any in the genre.
If you can find this book and the others mentioned in this review, I would highly recommend you buy them and use them as the foundation to your classic success library!
Wow. I mean...it took me 5.5 years to read this book. Hard as I tried, I could never get through it. Why you ask? It's 518 pages long. Which isn't Bible long...but--despite Robert Collier's excellent use of the English language--is just long-winded. I really gave it 3.5 stars because of content but rounded down to 3. The book has a lot of great ideas in it. I just would have preferred them to be condensed into the 100 page book it really is. Recommended? ::enter shrugging emoji::
