I feel a little bit bad giving this book a 1 star review because it wasn't all bad, but it was definitely mostly bad, so I guess that's fair enough.

I think this book was supposed to be about Luke and Isla as a couple? Except every.single.thing was written in summary format and would come at you out of nowhere and be completely disorienting. I'd turn the page and one of the characters would say something "we've gotten very good at kissing" even though the only mention of them kissing was one time on page 12 and it's all the way on page 115 and I had spent the last SEVERAL pages thinking that maybe this was a curious story where the characters kissed once and then ended up just being really good friends.

I don't know completely how to explain it, but it was like most of the actual plot had been left out. All of the relationship building, all of the actual story.

And then at the end, this book that is maybe telling the story of a relationship, makes it seem like they aren't going to stay together.

I fully realize that there is a sequel, but what?

The characters in this book were interesting and charming, but there was almost nothing else that was good about it.

Rough.
