Rate this book
Bobbie McIntyre dreams of running a ranch of her own. Raised without a mother and having spent most of her time around men, she knows more about wrangling than acting like a lady. The friendship of her new employer awakens a desire to learn more about presenting her feminine side, but ranch life keeps getting in the way. Ranch owner Jace Kincaid figures the Lord is testing his faith when a female wrangler shows up looking for work. Bobbie has an uncanny way of getting under his skin, though, and he’s surprised when she finds a home next to his heart. But when his cattle begin to go missing and his wranglers are in danger from some low-down cattle thief, can Jace trust God, even if it may mean giving up on his dreams? This was an enjoyable read for me. It is set in Colorado when it was a young and ranches were prevalent. Bobbie is a female ranch hand who has been saving along with her father to purchase a ranch of their own. When her father passes away she is recommended as a hand to Jace Kincade, a rancher who is having many challenges including rustlers, physical dangers to himself and his hands, and of course the land itself.

The story is well written and engaging with plenty of action, adventure, and suspense. Bobbie finds her way to the Savior but learns along the way that being a Christ follower doesn't mean there won't be hurts, challenges, and heartache in this world.

Bobbie and Jace do find each other during this tale and there is a satisfying ending. This is the first in the series and I'll be reading the others!

This book packs a wallop between its pages. The story is set among the mountains of 1872 Colorado Territory. Lots of space with plenty of rocks and trees to offer rustlers something to hide behind.

The story starts in the middle of an action scene and there’s plenty more between the pages on account of all the bank robbers and rustlers. Suspense and suspicion are maintained so you don’t really know who the bad guys are or how they’re involved until the end.

I like that the heroine, Bobbie McIntyre, wore trousers in her day-to-day work as a wrangler. And that she could shoot better than most men. It didn’t take long for me to see the kind of woman Bobbie was and although so many things changed over the course of the book, she stayed true to her character.

Jace Kincaid is a very likable hero – even when he faltered and I wanted to swat him on the side of his head. But his actions fit his character profile and I knew why he did what he did even if I didn’t agree with his reasoning. His action certainly upped the tension between the characters and increased the suspense.

The roller coaster romance takes us on a ride where our emotions heat up and cool down only to ride higher, faster, and longer as we reach the crest, then plummet in despair wondering if Bobbie and Jace will ever get together on the same track.

And through the story, the Gospel is unraveled to Bobbie who doesn’t realize she’s searching for a heavenly as well as physical home.

This book will appeal to anyone who likes stories about tomboys, Salvation, and the Wild West.

If you love non-stop action, gritty heroines, and rugged cowboys with godly values, this is the book for you. Janelle Mowery has crafted a fast-moving tale filled with cattle rustling, bank robbing, and even a mountain lion thrown in for good measure.

Bobbie McIntyre is a tomboy heroine who can out-ride, out-shoot, and nearly out-wrangle any man she comes up against. Jace Kincaid is a godly man determined to make his father's ranch succeed but is beset by crisis after crisis. Thrown together unwillingly at first, they eventually make a formidable team as they face their obstacles together.

There are times when the constant action impacted the characterization and left me wanting deeper insight into what made the hero and heroine tick, but for the most part, I found the cast of characters a delight.

A quick read at 279 pages, readers who enjoy an action-packed western adventure, will find this a fun, wild ride.

Really 2.5/5.0, rounded up.

I really hate giving a book a lower rating than a three if there is not something in particular that I really dislike. There isn't anything wrong with this book, it just isn't very well done and all those little "not very good" things add up to an "Eeh" and a shrug.

Here's the gist. The story is so-so, the writing elementary, the plot - while promising - never succeeds in grabbing one's attention enough to invest in the outcome and the Christian message overshadowed the actual plot at times until it often felt like a sermon couched in a story. Basically... a surface read.

I really liked this one. There were several preachy parts yet I understand how it was part of Bobbie figuring out who she was. I am always drawn to the tough cowgirl who would rather be outside on a horse rather than inside the house cooking and cleaning. ( I relate!!) Fun story! Quick, clean read!

If you’re in the mood for a rollicking Western full of dastardly villains, heart-palpitating heroes and sassy heroines then look no further. This book is for you. I felt like I’d time-warped onto the Bonanza set and loved every minute of it!

Mowery starts at a breakneck speed and keeps her readers gasping for breath right to the very last page. Just when you think Jace and Bobbie are going to get a reprieve the action hitches up another notch. The last third of the book is a real page-turner.

Bobbie is spunky and funny and endearingly lost. Jace is solid and comforting and ooohhhhhh so protective. They clash. Then clash some more and then…magic happens. Sigh.

This is a captivating escape read with a solid inspirational message — the perfect blend for success.

A quick read pulling you in from the start. It is a change to read how life was in the 1800's and I am sure it took a lot to try to make the story seem true. We all should take some time and reflect on good life and living. It was perfectly paced and made you feel you were in the time.

This book is action packed and fun with a good dose of romance. There was quite a bit of preaching so if that turns you off I just recommending skipping those parts because the story is worth the read

I read this over a decade ago. I only found it again because my best friend from high school went home for a week and sent me pictures of all the books I used to borrow from her bookshelf 😂 For the pure nostalgia of it all, I’d give it 5 stars. But it’s not actually 5 star worthy.

Great read, not often I see where the female lead character is the one unsure of trusting in God, so made it a refreshing change.

If your a fan of historical western romance, that also has a strong christian message woven in then your going to be in for a real treat when you pick up the action packed "When All My Dreams Come True," the first book in the Colorado Runaway Series by Janelle Mowery.

Talk about working in a male dominated world, that's just what Bobbie McIntyre does. She is a cowboy errr cowgirl who was taught by her father to rope and wrangle, but when he dies Bobbie decides its time to leave the ranch where he was the foreman. It had always been her dream to own her own ranch and she fears if she doesn't leave that she might never get the chance. So when the owner of the ranch recommends her to the Double K ranch owned by Jace Kincaid, as an excellent worker, he doesn't disclose that Bobbie is a female. With plenty of problems on the Double K, Jace decides to let Bobbie prove herself. Jace finds himself drawn to Bobbie, but when she comes under suspicion for cattle rustling and bank robberies, he isn't sure that he can trust her.
This book was full of action, from the get go Bobbie is mistaken for an outlaw, being tossed by a horse, thrown off a cliff, men being shot at and cattle drives, this book really never slows down. I enjoyed the fact that the character of Bobbie was so different. While being a wrangler in a male dominated setting, she comes off as strong and confident, but the author also gives us a softer side of Bobbie, someone who wanted to learn to cook, and wear dresses. I felt as if the tables were sort of turned in this story, usually its the male who is the hero, who makes everything ok, but not so in this story, it was actually Bobbie who saves the ranch.
Along with romance, there is a bit of mystery, humor and a nice inspirational message woven together to make this a book I couldn't put down.

A complimentary copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Title: WHEN ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE
Author: Janelle Mowery
Publisher: Harvest House Publishers
February 2011
ISBN: 978-0-7369-2807-6
Genre: Inspirational/historical

Bobbie McIntyre lost both her parents within a short span of time. Dislocated and orphaned she is sent to work as a ranch-hand for Jace Kincaid. But when she arrives on Jace’s ranch, she is shocked to find Jace and his man threatening to hang her for stealing cattle. She managed to talk him into hiring him on, and trying to break in his prized stallion. But one mistake and she’s out of there…

Jace Kincaid has trouble. Not only is someone rustling his cattle, but his neighbor thinks he’s a young fool, and a man he thought was a friend sent Bobbie—a nineteen-year-old Jace thought was a male—to work for him. Not only that, but Bobbie has dreams of owning her own ranch someday—could she be after his? And worse, it doesn’t take long for Jace to have dreams of his own, regarding Bobbie. What will it take to make their dreams come true?

As soon as I opened the cover and started reading WHEN ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE, I was thrust into non-stop action—and instant caring for the characters, even though they are not the type I usually like reading about.

Bobbie is as tomboyish as her name implies. She dresses in men’s clothing and handles a gun better than some of Jace’s ranch hands. Jace considers ranching a ministry, taking on troubled teens and teaching them to be real men…a woman coming under his employ under guise as a man leaves Jace unsure how to react and where to turn. And not only that, but she leaves him spinning, physically and mentally. If you are looking for a historical romance that will leave you gasping for breath and on the edge of your seat, then WHEN ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE is a book to consider. Ms. Janelle Mowery is an extremely talented author you’ll want to watch. $13.99. 304 pages.

More like 4.5 stars

This was a very enjoyable book with a sweet romance thread in it. I liked how the author used the fact that the ranch hand was female to enhance the tension in the story, but did it in a subtle way. I also loved not knowing who the bad guys were for a majority of the book. The faith thread was strong, and most likely would be understood best by Christians, but I loved how the author made it clear that doing good things isn't what saves you. Well done.

The hero in this story was pretty awesome. The tone felt almost like a "Lori Wick" novel, but without the point of view issues her books have. Harvest House is known for their tender romances and this definitely fits that scenario. I loved everything about Jace, the hero, and how the author showed him slowly succumbing to his feelings for Bobbie.

The heroine Bobbie was tough, but very female and tender emotionally as well. I loved her spunk, but I also loved the fact that she was portrayed as flawed and very human. I found her faith journey to be believable. It wasn't too heavy handed, but it was clearly present. You'd have to be blind not to notice the importance of faith regarding relationships while reading this story.

Last, there was plenty of action and mystery to the story. The cattle rustling theme was a bit cliche (seems like every western I've read lately has that as part of the story) but it really worked for the novel. All in all this tender-hearted romance was an engaging read. I'd recommend it to anyone and I definitely plan to read more books by this author.

In this first book in the Colorado Runaway series, Bobbie McIntyre and Jace Kincaid have one thing in common – they both love cattle ranching. Bobbie’s dream is to own her own ranch one day; Jace wants to prove he can run his successfully after the death of his parents. When Bobbie shows up wanting a job at Jace’s ranch, Jace is hesitant to hire a girl wrangler, but Bobbie proves herself to be knowledgeable and competent. As Bobbie is taken under the wings of Jace’s sister, her feminine side emerges, and Jace finds himself attracted to Bobbie. When cattle begin missing from the ranch and several bank robberies occur, Bobbie becomes a suspect.

What I loved about this fast-paced book is that the action never stops. Bobbie is shoved off a cliff, held at gunpoint, and accused of bank robbery. Jace’s heart is awakened to love he didn’t know he was looking for amid ranch troubles aplenty. Author Janelle Mowery is equally skilled at writing the action/adventure parts of the story as she is in presenting the tender side of two young people discovering love. If you love a little mystery with your romance, grab a copy of this book set in 1872 Colorado territory. Then hang on – it’s a wild and fun ride.

When Jace Kincaid hires a new wrangler he expects a man rather than a woman who can ride and rope with the best of ’em. Bobbie McIntyre is quite a proposition for a beleaguered rancher to take on. He has enough to think about already with cattle rustlers thinning his herd. Still, he admires Bobbie’s grit, and there’s no question she’s a great ranch hand. Now if she’d just stop getting under his skin.
Bobbie grew up without a mother, so she’s more comfortable in trousers than dresses. Why, all of a sudden does she want to explore her feminine side? And will her new boss notice?
As events unfold, Bobbie and Jace must decide whether to trust one another. Of course, that first involves trusting God.
When All My Dreams Come True by Janelle Mowery is a gripping novel laden with action, adventure and suspense. The characters are well-drawn and, although the plot delivers few surprises, it arrives at its destination in a satisfying manner. As this story gallops through the American West, readers of historical romance will enjoy going along for the ride.

The setting of this story is on a Colorado ranch. The young rancher is struggling to keep the family ranch alive after the death of both his parents. He is faced with seemingly endless problems of cattle rustlers. The funny thing is no other rancher is being targeted by the rustlers. Then walks in his latest hire who turns out to be a woman by the name of Bobbie that can outshoot and out rope any of his other ranch hands.

He soon discovers her need to know Christ. He seeks to win her heart not only for himself, but also for the Lord. He discovers beneath all the dust and cowboy attire a beautiful woman. Unfortunately that beautiful woman might possibly be wanted for cattle rustling and bank robbery. He must find out the truth about this woman. In all his struggles and problems he never loses the faith he has in God.

This book makes for great reading. It has romance, adventure, mystery, and a happy ending. (reviewed by L.Hale, Elementary Teacher, ACS)

this is a well written book that has a strong story line. It is considered a christian romance and has many religious moments.

Bobbie has an uncanny way of getting under his skin, though, and he's surprised when she finds a home next to his heart. But when his cattle begin to go missing and his wranglers are in danger from some low-down cattle thief, can Jace trust God, even if it may mean giving up on his dreams?

An adventurous novel of faith, hope, and love in the Wild West.

3.5 While there was obviously plenty of difference in the particulars (such as a tomboy girl cowhand in this book vs. a now-penniless rich girl learning to be a rancher's wife in the other), there was, for my taste, too much similarity with A Hopeful Heart, by Kim Vogel Sawyer, in the driving plot force: both have a ranch slowly being destroyed by rustling and .

If you like the genre, or don't mind some broad similarities, go ahead and read both books. But if for some reason you need to pick just one, I would recommend A Hopeful Heart--I thought the writing was a notch better and I liked the characters more.

When all my dreams come true: I will not have read this book.

You know when you where younger, or maybe even right now, when your mom was all like you need to stop reading all of those cheap romance novels before your brain falls out! But truth be told, most of the romance novels I read truly are written well. Their WORTHY to be read!

......This book however, is like all parents fears come true. And it is the ABSOLUTE worst book I have EVER read. And by far the worst romance novel I will hopefully read.

I can't say anything but this: Please don't read this your brain sells will die. It will blow your mind.

WARNING: I did not read all of this book. So I will admit that my review may not be honest. However, it is most differently and honest one for the three chapters that I DID read, when I decided I would die if I happened to read more.

I fell in love with Bobbie and Jace right off the first pages. This is a true western, not just a story set in the west. It has cattle rustling, gunfights, fires, cattle drives. It's a terrific story. Janelle Mowerey did a wonderful job developing the characters. The setting was well written, enough so, that I felt like I could get around there myself. The pace was excellent. I didn't want to put the book down. There just wasn't a good place to! I had to turn the page to find out what else was going to happen. That is my kind of a good read! Not a boring spot in the book. Janelle Mowerey has a new fan. This is the first of her books that I've read, but I'll be reading her books from now on. I highly recommend this WHEN ALL MY DREAMS COME TRUE.

Bobbie McIntyre meets up with 2 wrong men trying to take her out. After talking to one another she meets Jace the ranch owner she is supposed to work for. Jace in turns meets a girl instead of a boy that was supposed to come work for him. They thought she was the cattle rustler that has been attacking Jace's cattle. Jace's family takes Bobbie in to live in the house as she can not stay with the other hands in the bunkhouse. As time goes on Bobbie proves herself until someone says she is a bankrobber. Then doubts and rumors start to fly.

I enjoyed this romance with a mystery as well. Who are rustling the cattle and is Bobbie really a bank robber? The story comes alive from the very first page and keeps you drawn in as the pages turn. I did not want the book to end.

When All My Dreams Come True is a good example of making life tough for a character...and then making it tougher. The action in this novel never stops. It starts on the first page with the opening lines, "I'll be dead in a minute. Maybe less." How can you close the cover on words like that? From the very beginning, Bobbie fights for her future---her life , while Jace fights to keep the ranch he inherited from his father and protect Bobbie. This is a western mystery that keeps the reader guessing until the near end. It's an easy and quick read that has no sagging middle and a satisfactory ending.

If you do not like christian chic lit then this is NOT the book for you. The Heroine I loved Bobbi. I love a strong woman who is ready and willing to face a man head on. I sympathized through her pain and felt the book as I read it. I love Jace he was a good Christian man. The only reason I did not rate the book higher is because the reference to god was really strong at points that it completely took from the plot.

Pros: This book was somewhat entertaining...the idea of a female wrangler is original...the author held a coherent story and I liked the characters. Good plot twists and mystery.

Cons: (Not really a con)...but the book is very preachy...Religion is a heavy part of the story line which may or may not appeal to most audiences. I was not expecting it to be THAT much a part of the storyline, but it is. Even though the plot had a lot of twists, I did find myself wanting to fast forward to the end.

Despite some serious moments of danger, this book was a cute.

This book was pretty good. Both the story and main characters were interesting. It did not flow and develop throughout the entire story. I still enjoyed it mostly. Events seemed to repeat themselves and I am not sure if the characters really developed and changed with them. Not bad, but not great either.

It got very preachy in several places distracting from the story. I don't mind some religion in a story but don't want it to take over the story. I felt this one did overpower the story.

I didn't like this book as much as I'd expected to; it was kind of predictable and somewhat unrealistic. The dialogue didn't sound real; instead, it sounded forced at times. However, I did like the plot and the characters were developed enough. I did like how the characters grew and changed over the course of the story but I feel that there wasn't enough depth even at the end. Although I enjoyed this book, it just didn't have the same impact on me as most others.
