A travel guide to Crete that is very informative, has lots of the usual advice essential for the visitor to the island. The Thomas Cook Traveller's series are also small enough to fit in a pocket, which is handy. Has many suggested little tours for day trips, ideal for those who intend to hire wheels.
Actually I prefer the AA guide for it's large fold out maps, which is what this TC guide would be much improved with. While the AA's 'Essential Crete' is much briefer with the information it provides, both guides roughly cover the same topics.
However, if you want an overview of Crete's history from the Minoans to the present, and greater in-depth detail of the places of interest then T.C. delivers.
