Are fairies real or not? Rosie must discover the truth

When Rosie finds a tiny, tartan sock in her bedroom she's sure it could only fit one thing—a fairy! Rosie's mom tells her not to be so silly, fairies don't exist. Then the old lady who live next door tells Rosie that her mom's the one who is silly, fairies are everywhere if you know how to look. And they love chocolate. Rosie's not sure who to believe until she sees something in the grass at the top of the moor and then she can hardly believe her eyes. It's fluttering and tiny and magical. Could it really be a fairy?

This is one of those super cute children’s reads which will keep the young reader entertained for quite some time. It’s an engaging read, with a pace that leaves the child interested from the very first page until the ending where they will want to jump even further into fairy stories written by Gwyneth Rees (of which there are some other good reads to pick between).

One of my favourite books from childhood. Really loved it and I would like to get back into the habit of reading about fairies and paranormalcy. I'm beating myself up about giving it away!! Wish I could read it again.

The first 'novel' that has brought me into the reading world. How can I not love this book? It's been years since I first read this, but reading this and the entire series is definitely a guilty pleasure, despite no longer being in the age group for this kind of books. It is such a simple, cute book but still manages to make my heart race at parts. Thank you, Gwyneth Rees, you definitely changed my life.

Book on CD. I listened to this with Autumn and she really liked it. As a person who generally doesn't like fairy stories, I didn't mind this one. The fairies were small and not perfect, which I liked. I also liked the original story of how fairies came to be -- well, at least I had never heard it told that way.

I read a lot of Gwyneth Rees when I was younger. Literally all of the Fairy Dust Series, all of the Rani series.. these books really got me into reading. I love them so much and seeing just the front cover of this literally brings back so many memories. I love these books and I feel so nostalgic thinking about the joy I got out of them.

I thought this book would be a bit too young for me, but as a fellow BookCrosser sent it to me, I thought I'd give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised to find just enough magic, mystery, adventure & surprises to keep me interested. Glad I got the chance to read it.

I loved this as a child. Yes I know I am a boy and this should appeal to girls only, but fairies (kind and beautiful on the outside, dark on the inside) always fascinated me. I was a strange kid.

still on the search for childish wonder. remember reading this as a child & how it's still on my shelf in my childhood home (albeit in slovenian). remembered it randomly mid-sleepless night one day & have found just as much wonder in it as I did when little.

looked it up - this is the cover. I wondered why the illustrations in the English edition felt unfamiliar - they swapped illustrators. will revisit when home in july.

This story makes my inner child happy. I love fairies, Im 27 years old, and I don't give a damn! (Kidding aside, the story has sacrifices, family love, and friendships, and it was portrayed in a light manner a kid would easily understand. Definitely a good book to refresh!)

This book is soooooo cute!! And I loved the cover of this Macmillan's edition.

I'm in my mid thirty, but I still like magical stories. And fairy tales are always on my favorite list. I want to read more of the books from this series now.

I may be a bit old for this sort of story but I think it's so sweet and is great for young children.
