I really enjoyed this story. It was full of secrets, inner struggles, and danger. The herione had spunk and was a pleasure to read. The hero wasn't perfect and had much to learn. The ending was full of surprises. Overall, a great read for a hot summer day.

Molto carino.

This is the last of the five Harlequin Historical novels by Ms. Rowell that were published probably for a mail order subscription? Regardless, all five are on the more dark side of this genre. There is always a hidden danger in the form of an unknown person who is thinking about his quest at the end of some of the chapters. It keeps the suspense going and your nerves on edge. This story dealt with thievery, undercover government work, and murder. The H/H hardly seemed to be a good match, but I immediately was cheering for them. I knew all along that all would be well as we all do when reading this genre. However, I still had my jaws clinched. I didn't want to stop reading until I got to the 'happily ever after' part!

I gave this book 3.5- 4 stars as half the book is either helping her get well or him getting better.... the story is well put together I enjoyed the beginning as it was brilliant the middle is good the ending was good so all in all its a 3.5-4 stars I can't decide if I really loved the book to make it 4 stars but I will buy from this author again as it did keep me interested I thought the charectures where very well likeable.

I adored Lord Hades. He is so gorgeous, so tortured and so brave despite losing his hand. I adored how he tried to woo her, and did by coming to their wedding unshaved and pirtanical. The plot was interesting, the threat most diabolical. I hadn't expected the twist of Celeste and Hardsley, and of course, we do suspect Rob until almost the end. Very well done.

This was a definite keeper book. Hero is forced to abduct heroine when she stumbles upon the thieving ring that he’s infiltrated and ends up having to nurse her through a severe fever. She falls in love with him, despite feeling it’s doomed. After she’s returned to her family, she bumps into him again in a ballroom. I liked the mystery of this as well as both MCs. This hit all the right notes.

I am not much for Harlequin books, but this was interesting to read. The plot development was complete (although the ending was a bit rushed - probably the word count). I liked the characters of Persephone and Leopold and how Rowell wove in the myth of Persephone and Hades.

Great escapist literature. A few quirks, but satisfying read with respectable characters.

First-rate Regency romance/thriller

I love this author! My eyes were glued to the page until the very end. The story is evenly paced with intriguing characters and the element of danger throughout.

Persephone's curiosity lands her in mortal danger, then she is abducted and carried away by a man she calls Lord Hades. She becomes ill and is tended only by Lord Hades and a man called Aelfred.
