I read this to the first graders before their field trip to the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually wildlife refuge. We visited their habitat page and talked about the 7 habitats they might see and all the animals in the book that will be there and the purpose of a wetlands.

Beautiful watercolor illustrations. I enjoyed this picture book. The content is geared for an older child, but the illustrations and the amount of text per page will attract any age

We discovered this book at the visitors center at a local wetland park. It's a short, entertaining story and helps to explain the beneficial aspects of wetlands. The illustrations are very realistic, with gorgeous details. We enjoyed reading this book together.
