A charity bachelorette auction had provided Matt Ballard with the opportunity he'd been waiting for. He would buy Claire Caldiera for the evening. And she wouldn't be able to leave him like she had years before.
But part of this powerful bachelor still longed for the woman whose deception had nearly destroyed him. His plan had been to get her back into his bed, get his answers and be the one to leave. Yet just one touch reignited long-forgotten passions. And now this billionaire's heart might have to pay the ultimate price.
I write the kinds of books I want to read. Fast-paced books with lots of world-building, snarky heroines, and swoony heroes. I love story, pop culture, gossip, and baked goods. I’m a modern-day hippy and certified LEGO nerd.
I live in the Austin, Texas hill country, with my geeky husband and two extremely geeky kids. We have dogs, chickens, cats, and more LEGOs than should be allowed by law. Oh, and I stress bake. So if my characters talk about food a lot, that’s why.
The Billionaire's Bridal Bid was really well done re-union story. Throughout the book I was convinced Matt and Claire were meant for each other despite the twelve years of distance, anger, resentment between them.
They both loved each other but were young and Claire made a decision to let him follow his dreams(thinking she would come back) while she dealt with the situation her sister and his brother had created but then Matt had become rich and she heard about his lifestyle.
So, she's not pleased when he bids for her and the date he takes her on makes her feel he is showing off his wealth but the sparks between them erupt and Matt decides to make a fresh start with no past resentments, Claire still is the love of her life, of course he doesn't know what happened twelve years ago and Claire is pretty wary.
A good book. it was difficult to put down once I started reading. In fact this was the second time I read this book in 6 months. It's a beautiful story of love that is forever.
This is the kind of book I would have looked down on myself for reading as a teenager/ early 20s. But there's something nice about a book that doesn't intellectualise things. Unlike other books I've recently started, I could finish this in one evening. There was enough story, obviously fictional, and just the right amount of sterotypicality to get me out of a reading slump.
Esta novela tinha alguns erros de tradução, por omissão de palavras. Comparativamente a outras do mesmo género, não foi especial. Mas deu para entreter. Read the review in http://booksliteraryreviews.blogspot....
Both Claire Caldiera and Matt Ballard thought they were gonna last forever when they were in college. But one day, Claire told Matt she'd fallen for someone else and listed all the things that drove her away from him.
Now, 12 years later during a charity bachelorette auction he discovers his brother is biding on Claire. Never having a good relationship with any of his family and wanting the chance to talk to Claire a bidding war begins between the brothers, finally stopping on twenty thousand dollars.
Claire's heart can't help but jump at the sight of Matt even if she doesn't want him too. Through the act of following his career, Claire knew the company FMJ that he and his friends were just starting out on had grown to a multi million dollar company and with that the social gap that was between them before had only become ocean wide now.
Even wishing her life could have been better, Claire can't regret her choices. The decision to come home after a semester of college; thus breaking up with Matt, to take care of her pregnant 15 year old sister, whose father is Matt's brother Victor that still doesn't acknowledge he has and son, and who their grandparents had kicked out was a choice she would make again. Yet, she didn't tell Matt any of that.
When planning the date with Claire, Matt wanted to show her just what her life could have been like if she hadn't broken up with him. In reality though, it was the start of them telling the truth.
The ending was slightly different than I was expecting, but all in all the book was different from others and a really great read.
D2051 Nov10 Matt Ballard and Claire Caldiera they had dated for 6weeks, when they were in college, when she left him. 12 years later he's back in town ready to bid on her at the town bachelorette auction, now she can't run away from him. Enjoyed this story of passion and how the past changed them both and has brought them back together, if they can admit that they love each other.
I love the story but I hated the title because it made no sense. Claire and Matt are soul mates that let pride and distrust come between them. This was a well written reunion story that had me turning pages. I really wished for an epilogue but other than that the story was very good.
The second in a series about friends who went into business together. I find I enjoy this author's work enough that I will pick up the next one definately.
