The worlds in this collection are similar to our current world. The inhabitants speak, laugh, live and exist in worlds with similar themes. Perhaps, one could say that they represent what would have happened in the past, in the near future and in a far-flung (and still possible) future? The worlds are ‘what-if’ worlds but still beguiling enough for us to sit down and wonder if lion-fishes could fly and people could become truly self-sufficient … and grow food on their own bodies.
