Vijncke tells us with a lot of passion about one subject: bugs. Like 'em or hate 'em, they are everywhere and do play a huge role in our ecosystems. Vijncke truly manages to get across her passion very well in this writing. It reads away nicely and doesn't use too much jargon, and you can just feel her enthusiasm about the subject through the prose she uses. She touches on various aspects, such as how she overcame her own phobia for bugs, but also things like ecosystems, social behavior, hunting techniques, how insects reproduce, etc.
Definitely recommend this book to people who like insects. And even if you don't...perhaps still check it out? This might give you a newfound appreciation for the little beasties.
