It's Chloe's first Valentine's Day with Alex and someone is out to sabotage the Sweethearts Ball. Her romance may also be a casualty with Alex's parents and their cats in town for a visit and not pleased with their son's engagement.
Melanie, an award-winning author of more than fifty novels, stories and poems lives with her writer husband in the California Gold Country with their cat (also a writer who has a page on myspace) and their dog (who is hoping to get a page on facebook as soon as she masters typing). Melanie likes gardening but hates the deer who also like her garden, and she volunteers at a local animal shelter.
Cupid’s Revenge by Melanie Jackson is a delightfully quirky little romp where awkward encounters, jealous flare‑ups, and even a surprise heart attack somehow blend into a sweet, humorous story. Alex and Chloe make an adorable pair. They're equal parts flustered and endearing but let’s be honest, Blue absolutely steals the show. Every pet‑related mishap adds a burst of charm that keeps the story light, funny, and irresistibly cute.
It’s the kind of quick read that feels like a rom‑com vignette: warm, messy, funny, and unexpectedly heartfelt.
Alex asking her to marry him, also saying yes his parents were coming for valentine weekend.someone is .sabotaging the gazebo for the dance. Alex grabs pizza and go to check it out. There engagement is being noticed, and hopes her mother doesn’t start right away with plans, and knowing they will disagree. Then his parents, who wouldn’t love Chloe, but they don’t, she has the week end to change their mind. Funny, enjoyable as these always are.
Chloe Boston has two problems to figure out: 1) how to tell her parents and her future in-laws that she and Alex are officially engaged, and 2) who is trying to sabotage the Valentine's Day Sweethearts Ball. It's a toss-up as to which will be more difficult.
It's Chloe's first Valentine's Day with Alex and someone is out to sabotage the Sweethearts Ball. Her romance may also be a casualty with Alex's parents and their cats in town for a visit and not pleased with their son's engagement. Sure am enjoying reading these books one right after the others, like watching a TV season on DVD!
I almost stopped reading on the first page when Chloe said "and with all due respect to Shakespeare, this [February] is the cruelest month- not April." Unless I am unfamiliar with an earlier reference, T.S. Eliot actually said this... regardless, I like the characters and I wanted to see how Chloe and Alex's relationship developed in this Valentine's Day novel.
This was a cute one.Valentine's Day is always rough but when you become engaged and you are trying to find someone who is trying to ruin the Valentine's dance, you have a hard time enjoying yourself. Plus Chloe has to find a way to get her soon to be in-laws to like her. I really enjoyed this cute story.
Fifth in the series. I enjoyed this one which was more focused on Chloe's relationships with her soon-to-be inlaws. Short, but sweet. I really like this cozy series.
