Conversations with the Mob

Rate this book
Conversations with the Mob showcases Lewis' stunning photographs alongside personal recollections of her time living with the Martu 'mob'. This is a unique portrait of contemporary Australian life by turns moving, contemplative and deeply disturbing.

A rare and under-rated gem. This book offers a window into the experience of coming to live with remote Aboriginal people which is honestly focussed on the author's spiritual and emotional growth. Photos are a fair portrayal of conditions in some remote communities. The trust and respect local people have for Lewis shows in the work. This book deserves a wider audience. If you have the chance to buy it, I would like to encourage you to do so.
