What does every aspiring comic artist REALLY want to draw? Action, of course! Learn how to render all aspects of adrenalin-filled movement, from jaw-dropping superhero antics to kick-ass fistfights.
This is a good book for people (probably the very young) who have never set pencil to paper before but beyond that it is very basic.
It tackles the usual issues of moving from a stick figure to a finished piece of art but as with most of these books there are often huge leaps between the basic shape sections and a finished artwork which (as with most of these books) the author is too afraid to say that this is where the reader will simply have to be talented.
Art instruction books are never an easy subject as the user will have to have a little talent to work with. Those that have talent will have already picked up most of these tips and tricks simply by practicing and this kind of book becomes little more than a collection of inspirational drawings (and some nice ones were included in this volume). Those that don't have this talent unfortunately are always going to fall at this hurdle as it is something that you can either do or you can't.
Not a bad read though and some nice reference points to work from for your own artwork.
Good book for those interested in drawing superheroes. The number of example drawings is somewhat limited, but what it has is good and it contains good advice and direction for artists
