Not as useful for my specific purposes as Foss and Waters's "Destination Dissertation," because the focus is much more on the nontraditional student making their way either without much adviser guidance or sometimes at odds with their adviser. Thus, not so good for extrapolating how to be a good adviser, of course. However, a good sound advice book.
