The author is obviously a gifted telepath and medium, and while she outlines some good basic skills, those newly honoring their intuition shouldn't expect the same results as Ms. Gurney who, for example, has located missing animals with easy, exact precision and detailed descriptions of their whereabouts.

This book has good basic grounding meditations and introduction to energy work, and it provides good references for further study that interested me (Diane Stein's book about animal healing and the Tellington TTouch bodywork method). I also enjoyed the many stories from Ms. Gurney's private practice which were very illuminating and touching.

What was missing for me were some guidelines about how to distinguish true telepathic communication from "mind chatter," what role the imagination plays, and explaining how the human channel filters and interprets the animals' messages. This kind of information would be very helpful for both new and even very experienced telepathic communicators. Perhaps these will be areas I will cover in my next book about animal spirituality!

I started practicing animal communication by using Gurney's clearly stated instructions and have been finding consistent and reliable results.

This is a great read for anyone looking for concrete, step-by-step guidance on communicating with animals! A bonus if you can get a friend to read with you and practice together as Gurney recommends trying certain exercises with other people to strengthen your intuitive abilities.

The book certainly delivers what is promised in the title, which is nothing short of amazing!

People from every walks of life who are non-animal lover perhaps find it very difficult that we as human actually are able to communicate with any kinds of animals.

As Masaru Emoto's said in his phenomenal books about the truth power of water, that everything in the universe have certain "wave of live" that will 'resonance' or in other words, response towards each other if there's any connection between them, or if their 'frequency' are the same.

Carol gave clear explanations for all of us in this book to reach better understanding and communication with our animals - from why to how - so even for non-animal lovers, Carol's teaching will give new enlightment in a unique way.

The anecdotes throughout the book were very inspiring and I was touched by many of them. The author's explanation of how to communicate was very simple and easy to follow, although some others have provided more detail in their books. A very enjoyable and approachable book for learning to communicate with animals.

Yes, you can communicate with animals. This book is easy to read and gives great instruction on beginning your journey to animal communication. I have in the past six months been taking the time to really connect with my two animals - dog and cat. Just the simple gesture of being present with my animals. Connecting with them while I pet them or are with them. Tuning in. I have been able to feel the love and compassion that I feel toward them and that I feel from my animals. Unconditional love. Almost unheard of in the world and yet, always found in nature and with animals. Taking the time to go deeper and trusting yourself can lead to a rewarding relationship and communication with your pet.

Before reading this book, I was already connecting through dreams--and this book mentions that dreams are one way to communicate with animals who have passed, since you're in a relaxed state. I intend to keep trying. Like the author, I'm not one of these people who without effort telepathically communicates with animals when they were children.

It looks suspiciously like a cat tore a page of this book. Probably Gabriel... communicating... that he wanted me to put the book down and feed him wet food.

Attended one of her workshops at a conference in San Francisco about twenty years ago. Used a consult about six months later. The book is full of practical information and exercises.

Prissy " Boo" Conner

After the loss of our little girl dog to cancer my brother who is an animal communicator recommended I read Carol's book. We have always treated animals as a part of our family . By the time we realized our little girl was sick she only had five days left to live . This was the first-time we had to make the decision to have one of the dogs we loved so dearly put to sleep . We knew this was the right thing to do to not let her suffer anymore but that did not make it any easier. My brother communicated that Prissy told him she was ready to go and thanked us for helping her make this transition to heaven. This book made me realize how many short-comings I had as an animal lover . If you are an animal owner and lover or thinking of becoming one you need to read this book. Do it for the special one in your life you love so dearly.

I have worked as a volunteer at the local Humane Society and have enjoyed the companionship of a dog for the majority of my life. I found the book interesting and confirmed some of my own thoughts and impressions when it came to relating to our animal friends. If I am able to learn something from a book then I tend to be more lenient with my ratings. The author has some great anecdotes when it comes to re-enforcing her coaching methods. An easy and informative read if you are interested in the field of animal communication. At the least, it provides some good tips in relating to your pets.

Love, love, love the quote, "Not surprisingly, people who have low self-esteem or are self-critical often surround themselves with animals. They isolate from humans and gravitate toward animals, intuitively knowing that an animal's love will enable them to feel a sense of security and safety in the world again. They may even restore their human relationships after healing through the animal's love."
