another summer romance, only takes a couple of hours to read and puts you into a positive frame of mind but just as easily forgotten.

First of all, this book promotes churchianity, not a living, inspirational spiritual walk with our Lord. It's about big speakers, bands, self-promotion, getting into the chrischun music industry so that you can 'make it'. In Jee-zus' name, that's a given, yo, but...

This. IS. Mega-church mentality at it's finest.

We have Claire Savage, an ex-Miss America first runner up (and ex-Miss Texas). She's been groomed to be all about being perfect and beautiful and admired, all her life, so it's no surprise that she drives a limited edition pink classic Mustang and owns one of the largest motorcycle shops in Texas. She does special music for her church (one of her 'talents')... and spends all of her time being showy and awesome. In the name of Gawd, of course.

We're also told she has three abused dogs living at home that she absolutely neglects all day long. As if this makes her a 'better' person, r'something? I'm not even sure. She's catty, vicious (orders Luke a dinner that would hurt him, intestinally - she has NO IDEA his medical conditions, but knows he may be compromised, based on some nasty scars he sports, and she *STILL* did this, hello)...!!!

I'm sorry, but NO.
That's not loving. That's not inspirational.
It's not even Christ-like behaviors.
NONE of it's enjoyable.

So I'm out. DNF at pg 75.
This. Is. NOT. Good.

another quick, easy, lite summer read

the only problem i had w/ this book was the ending!

ya know how some when some movies are ended, you know the way they left things intentionally open, it's most likely for a sequel? well ...

this book was like that. it ended, but it didn't end. i felt like there were some loose ends that weren't tied up, but could have. i kept looking for the epilogue!

Mae Nunn books all inspire you and uplift you as you are going through things. Everyone of her books I have read, I have experienced some of the things in them. They are great.

I like the premise of the book, it was just too short. Not enough character development for me. Appreciate that it was clean and a christian story line.
