The content is exactly what the summary says.  Definitely, Maybe is a very short piece of work wherein Lucy tells a brief story about the night she lost her ability to see auras, then following, learned of her new supernatural skill.

To be honest, the girls are great together, and I just love that Lucy has two best friends who are supportive and wonderful.  Yay for positive female relationships in a book!!

Of course, this short story really felt like a teaser of sorts, or that maybe it could have been inserted somewhere within one of the other novels.  It was abrupt and gave us only a little bit more detail about what happened when Lucy was struck by lightning, thus changing her life and the nature of her psychic abilities.  I had already surmised as much since this particular piece of back story is mentioned in every installment.

And then, before you realize it, it's over and you're feeling a little lost.

So I had to dive into the next book immediately to fix that little hole.

Still, it was cute and enjoyable.

I loved this story, which I downloaded to my Kindle for 99 cents! It's an in-between story for Lucy Valentine, but it's more than a throwaway. It answers nagging questions about Lucy's psychic abilities and how she came to have gifts different from her family's. There's something about Heather Webber's writing that always makes me so happy. I fall into her worlds and feel completely at home. She writes like the kind of person she is: funny, friendly, and exactly what I like!

Extremely short story about how Lucy's powers changed from the aura reading the rest of her family had, to the ability to find missing objects. Nothing in it that you couldn't find in the main books, and the only part I felt was really interesting was how Lucy felt when she lost her original ability. How "her world went dark". It would be like losing any other sense, I suppose. To go from seeing brilliant beautiful colors around someone, to just seeing them. It made more sense then why it took so long for her to feel that the ability that replaced it wasn't simply useless. I also liked her admission that she bought the gifts she did for her friends in the colors that she remembered their auras being, so that she wouldn't forget what color they were.

WHY THOUGH

The good news is I got my library to buy 2 copies of this ebook so now everyone can realize this in-between story didn't need to happen MUCH FASTER than I did.

Short and sweet.

Explains how Lucy's "power" changed.

Quite a clever way of clearly enlightening the reader.

I knew this was going to be a short story but I finished it in less than 15 minutes. Not sure it was worth the read,

Just a short chapter, nothing special. Should have been included in one of the books.

Short Story in the Lucy Valentine Series

Description: (Goodreads) It's a dark and stormy night when psychic Lucy Valentine shares with her best friends exactly how she acquired her supernatural abilities.

From My Point of View: Since I loved the first three Lucy Valentine books, I picked up this short story as well, but I have to say I was disappointed. I didn't feel like this book contained any new information. I thought short stories were suppose to supplement an existing storyline (at least in this case)? This one definitely did not. I am pretty sure we learned all the information in the book in Books 2 & 3, so what was the point in reading this one?

Maybe I just didn't get it?

Since I don't normally write reviews unless I have something specific to say, here's the break down of how I rate my books...

1 star... This book was bad, so bad I may have given up and skipped to the end. I will avoid this author like the plague in the future.

2 stars... This book was not very good, and I won't be reading any more from the author.

3 stars... This book was ok, but I won't go out of my way to read more, But if I find another book by the author for under a dollar I'd pick it up.

4 stars... I really enjoyed this book and will definitely be on the look out to pick up more from the series/author.

5 stars... I loved this book! It had earned a permanent home in my collection and I'll be picking up the rest of the series and other books from the author ASAP.

Honestly, this probably doesn't merit more than 2 stars, but I enjoyed it, nevertheless. It's really, really short - finished reading it before my cup of tea was gone. And there's almost no substance to it - no real story. It's just Lucy and her two best friends talking a bit about Lucy's family and history. I really like this series, and I enjoyed learning just a bit more about Lucy and her family's "abilities", but if you're not already familiar with the series, I don't think you'd get anything out of this.

Okay, so I was torn between giving it 2-3 star rating. I would have to say that I give it a 2.5 star rating. I don't think that it had anything to add the story because we already know 90% percent of this story, not to mention I would say 20% of the story was explanation of things. Really there were only two revelations, though only one of those I feel is relevant. Overall, I didn't care for it, it was okay.

It was a cute story giving you background on Lucy's gift. It gets less stars because it was only 10 pages long, and I paid 99 cents for it. Granted that is not a lot of money, but it seemed to warrant more than ten pages. If you decide to buy it, pass it around to your friends who like the series to get your money's worth.

3 stars/Fiction; Paranomal

A short story that tells the story about how Lucy Valentine lost the ability to 'see' like her father, and how she discovered her own hidden talent.

I like Webber's writing enough that I was a little disappointed that this was so short, but it was still good.

short story - ebook about how Lucy Valentine got her talent for finding lost items. She tells her friends during a lightning storm similar to the one that transformed her ability to see auras to finding lost items.

A very short story about Lucy telling the story to her best friends about how she got her power. Nothing new, but it was good to read Lucy again.

Only read it if you are familiar with the Lucy Valentine series.

A very short story outlining the story about how Lucy lost one power and acquired another. I love the characters in this series, so this short story was like a fun, short visit with friends. I hope there will be another full length Lucy Valentine novel soon.

This short story is not worth the paper it is written on. It is merely a rehash of information already revealed in the earlier books. Save your time and money - just skip it. Trust me, you're not missing anything.

Very short, but interesting

I really wish this could have been longer. Although it did give me a quick Lucy Valentine fix. Love Lucy and the rest of the main characters. I cannot wait for the next installment in the series.

I liked that we finally got the whole story of how Lucy lost her match-making powers and found out about her new finding powers. It seems like with every book it is talked about, but getting things more in depth was nice.

Took only about ten minutes to read. Very well could have been a chapter in one of the Lucy Valentine books. No new ground covered, no revelations.

I actually finished this already but forgot to make it currently reading. Oh well. xD Great story. A good addition even though it's really short. I can't wait for the next book. :)
