About the author

Carole Stott has written more than 20 books on astronomy and space, and is a feature writer for the UK magazine Astronomy Now. Carole authored Kingfisher’s popular I Wonder Why Stars Twinkle and Other Questions About Space and The Best-Ever Book of Astronomy. Before turning to full-time writing, she was curator, and then head, of the Greenwich Royal Observatory.

Probably my least favorite of the eyewitness books so far. A little too dry.

I love the DK Eyewitness Books.
Even though this book is geared to an older children's audience it is still great to use with toddlers and young children. The pictures can guide parents to discuss certain features and aspects of the topic. Our 4 yr old loves to pour over the pictures and discuss what he sees. Our older son can read the in-depth descriptions about space and not get bored.

My new favorite name: Wubbo J. Ockels. (He's a Dutch astronaut who invented a sleeping bag that works in weightless environments.)

This is a British book, so there's not that much on the American space program.

I grew up reading these Eyewitness Books and have always enjoyed reading through book after book in this series of interesting facts about essentially any topic. These books provide a great read for any curious young reader and can also work as a nice addition to any teacher's library.

this book is amzing it theaches you about tones of things about space it tells you about the evelution of space suits and space ships like the reusable space ships.
