As dark shadows released from Victoria's reign run rampant in 2054 London, Geraint, Adept, Serrin, Francesca, and Rani are drawn into a world of deceit, death, and conspiracy. Original.
Allí of the previous books had something that made them shine: characters, plot... This one doesn't. It does a good job of showing the shadowrun universe, but so did the previous 7.
I love the world of Shadowrun and the other novels I read in the series were quite good. This one, however, was a drawn out murder-mystery with an overly confusing plot. Additionally, the characters were so one-dimensional that I struggles to remember who was who.
The book seemed a bit more dense than the other SR novels, but the characters were decently developed. The ending was a two-edged sword. On one hand, it reminded us of who the real power players are in the SR universe. On the other, it kind of put the whole story and characters' efforts into a futile perspective--which may have been exactly the point!
This was a good ride until the end.. it all falls apart at the end but I guess that's how a showdowrun goes. Not a bad book I was just hoping for a different kinda ending
