A big storm invades the town of Apple Harbor and Dumpy and his neighbors all pitch in to the help, but their biggest challenge occurs when the lighthouse loses power with no spare parts. It's up to Dumpy and the others to keep the boats at sea safe until the passes.

The story is a bit wordy and long. But cute characters and fun illustrations!

I was really bothered by the message that the problem needed "the guys" and "men" to fix it. The police officer that shows up near the end had a female name, but there was no mention of her gender. And the other women in the book were portrayed as overly-worried or fragile. I kept stopping as I read this to my son to assure him that women could be strong problem-solvers, not just men.

I was really expecting better, and was sadly disappointed. I do no recommend this book.
